Your message to the future
There is a satillite being sent up in 2007 called KEO, it will land back on earth in 50,000 years. You can go to http://www.keo.org/uk/pages/message.php To write your own message to the future!! I think it's a pretty cool idea.
What will your message to the future be? You can read more about KEO on the website, they ar eputting samples of earth.water.air and human blood in the middle of the satillite. Also pictures of all the different cultures in the world.

I do wonder if the earth will even last that long or even humanity...i mean 50,000 years is pretty long....seeing the effects of global warming and other stuff...but i guess it would be intresting when sending a message to the future...hopeing that when it dose land that the remaining humens don't blow it up thinking its sum sort of missile or anything...

As for the, "what if they don't speak english" question, even if (and it's likely) English goes the way of latin or sandskrit, I'm sure there will be scholars who speak it, or at least the means to translate it.

I wrote a serious letter.
"Hello future Earth inhabitants. I hope the planet is doing well in your time. I am typing this letter in the year 2006. I live in the state of Texas, which may be different in your time, but as of now it is nice. I hope you will know the mathematical formula used to determine the area inside a pentadodechahedron, for it could be very useful. Hopfully you have increased in knoweldge and technology, unlike the people in "The Time Machine," for that would be most unfortunate, but perhaps I can give you some insight on what the world is like in my present time. Technology is the thing, most everyone has a computer and internet access. The world is supposedly in danger of "global warming" but I think it's just a hoax, for a few years ago, scientists we're predicting "global cooling." *Laughs* We have not yet been able to journey to other planets, but in your time you may have. I hope it is interesting, and that you have spaceship technology. Perhaps even hyperdrive technology. I much like science fiction. My favorite show is Stargate SG-1, which uses space travel frequently. You may have even created your own Stargate by the time you read this. I wonder if there are still books in your time, or if everything is digital, or if you can even read at all. For if there are no more books, that is a shame, nothing is better than the feel of a good tome in your hands. It is much preferable to reading a digital book on the computer, or listening to it on a recording device. Well, I cannot think of much more to write to you, future people, Farewell.
