    It can.

    However you won't be able to enjoy dx10 when you want to run games that have dx10.

    Yah windows xp can run any game. Vista can run most games has problems with some. You can have dx10 on xp if you gfx card has it.

    The newer games don't have any problem, the older ones (I'm talking about games before 2002) that have serious issues, but still are playable with a bit of tweaking.

    DX10= Vista and W7 only.

    You can have dx10 hardware and run it, but you cannot use it, as XP can't run the dx10 software.

    You mean the 'DX10 for XP' project?

    It failed horribly and only changed in dxdiag the dx number from 9 to 10.
