Default A story about Mortal online

Some of you might, some of you might not have heard of Mortal Online.

Imo it's a great game probably, but i'd like to share my experience with the game store.

So the peeps who know Mortal Online know about the beta system.
    It's a pre-order, first come = first get, beta waves of 2000.
So the first 2000 that buy get in block A, the next 2000 get in Block B ( 2 weeks later)

So the scheduled time was 20:00 , instead of that the site got overloaded, so everyone waited anxiously for it to be back up.
So i kept trying and trying to get into the store when the site was back up.
At 3:00 AM (Yeah great time) the game store was up, since its first-come first-get i think delay like that is unacceptable and the sale should be postponed.
But hell i still bought the game the moment it was possible again.

At the process of buying i came across alot of page-load errors, after buying ( well it seemed it was bought) the status of my payment stayd at "Initialized", which means nothing has been done yet practically.
After a few days it went on "Pending" , and all the devs would say is " If its pending, it will go through eventually".
So now my payment is still "Pending" , and i should be in block A, the Block A is going to start in 10 hours from now.

The problems were always the fault of the site hoster and payment company, and my Block A spot will probably be given to someone else since im still unable to pay.
(If ur wondering how i can hold my copy, it's reserved when u buy, but u only get to play once it's finished.)

So here i am, they had 1 week to fix errors, i paid 70 euro's for a game with alot of trouble, and my well-earned beta spot is going to be given away while i waited for this day a long time already.

Might have skipped a few details but the basic info should be here.

Oh yeah, they wanted everyone with problems to send a mail to their support email, and so i did, well that helped , /sarcasm.
furthermore the devs that could give info didn't appear at Irc anymomre, and the dev that got on ONCE said, i understand why ur mad but u should be mad at the company that arranges payments.
Thx for the help dev >.<

Ouch, that sucks but it *is* beta so they are trying to fix problems still. My question is : Did you already technically *pay* for it? If not make a new account and buy it, then cancel the other one.

Paying for a beta though? That's just... ugh.. It's like paying for a half finished product that you know will blow up.

@Greed : The beta is like an extra freebie u get, u also get a month of playing time, so practically u still just buy the game.

@korncob, Nice advise, but if you make another account and buy a new copy , first of all it doesn't work for peeps.
second of all, if you trust the dev's words (Which can't be trusted so far) the "pending" will go through sometime, so suddenly someday u'll lose ur money on it anyways >_>
And third of all, its all about the beta blocks, if u buy it NOW, u'r in the last beta block, since almost all the copies have been sold, so it wouldn't really help im afraid.

Yeah. I was one of the lucky ones who it went through first time with.

Not much can be done really. It's the payment site's fault for saying they could handle it, when they clearly couldn't. Unfortunately nothing the Devs at Mortal can do.

I'll be playing Block A, and I'll probably keep the forums updated with anything interested. Given that, there's no NDA.

i don know much about it, but couldnt they have "tested" the purchase or something , choosing a bad host is a fault on their side.
Anyways its teh worst pre-order i've seen, but i guess there's nutting i can do bout it.

The company they used works with various big name games.

They assured the Dev team they could manage it, however, ended up giving too little resources to them.

That is kind of crap. Though, it's also why I tent to not pre-order. Most of the pre-orders I've made were bad experiences. So I stopped quite a while back.

Lol, so true. Poor Powster, you were like the guy everyone and their mother wanted to flame just cause you supported Darkfall.

I guess everyone just has higher expectations for this game. Darkfall just got out of control with people not having any idea what they were talking about and who never even played the game flaming the shit out of it.

The combat has "depth" in mortal online, better engine, better animations/graphics, better dungeon/monster system, and they aren't doing crappy "limited release" stuff from what I understand.

It has to do with the cockiness of the developers and some in their community. People enjoy "proving" boastful persons wrong. Which is why, any failure Darkfall does is flamed far worse than Mortal Online ones.

Beta A will mostly be Combat. I'll be trying out ranged mostly. I'll dabble in some other areas however.

Crafting seems pretty awesome to me.

There's supposed to be more than 140 million weapon combinations.

The problem with such numbers, is that they do not tell how many of those combinations will actually be worthwhile.

Indeed they don't. I'm pretty sure a large portion won't be of much use at all for that matter.

However, it's all about the possibilities it presents I suppose.

And besides, who doesn't want a axe with a sword hilt?

Meh, if a game starts out with crappy graphics then they gotta upgrade the graphics sooner to keep up with the newer games coming out.

If your system can't run it sorry but that isn't the game's problem, it's yours.
