Warcraft movie announced

As soon as I saw "movie".
I screamed "NO" in my head.

There's a big chance its going to suck. If they were to make a Warcraft movie, its better to keep it 100% CG.

Not all movies that don't follow original plot are failures. Sometimes the worst thing is that it's unnecessary not to, but it can still turn out enjoyable.

Watchmen was enjoyable, but shit in terms of adapting the book. Should it have been made then? No, because Alan Moore didn't want it to.

Fight Club was brilliant, not really a great interpretation from the book, though. Should it have been made? Moot, because the author gave permission.

Even movies like The Dark Knight and Iron Man don't follow plot rigidly.

So, Warcraft could be good or it could be poor, this doesn't necessarily depend on the plot being true, so long as the changes are necessary and well done.

Since I'm an avid warcraft fan, I wonder what story line it'll be based on. Maelstrom? Emerald Dream? Who knows.

I could imagine it would be about 'present day' in WoW or close too as most of the players wouldn't be familar with the Emerald Dream but Maelstrom could be an idea of the news of the up coming expansion is correct.

be serious you guys, there is a high probability that this film is going to stink. but because of the godly fanbase its going to be the number one film of the year anyway in money earned and records broken... probably.

but theres still a high probability that it will stink. movies dont turn out great just because they are based on something great. nor do they turn out great because people say dumbass stuff like "its going to be the next ____"

LOTR trilogy isnt awesome because its based on the lotr trilogy or because it won like a billion awards that one time. its awesome because of the acting and music and attention to detail and the mad amounts of cgi that manage to not look shitty or get too repetitive.

if the only thing a warcraft movie has going for it is thats its "a warcraft movie" then its going to be pants. just like a halo movie. or a doom movie. or a max payne movie. oh wait they already did some of those.

A smart man would call in the Jim Henson company and enhance their already AMAZING work with CGI. I know that wont happen and for the most part it'll be a three hour CGI fest.

Del Toro should have been the director.
