If I HAD to pick one, I'd say True Blood if only for it's more mature tone. Though that's not saying much. Think I'll stick with Buffy for now, though. That or my Vampire: The Masquerade/Requiem universes.

My bf works at hot topic and has to deal with twilight shit every day, so yeah basically crammed down his throat.

No one said work had to be enjoyable but I see your point about the hot topic thing.

They have loads of twilight merch and stuck up *****es.

    My condolences to you're boyfriend.

Oh lawd, it's Bryan's time. True Blood > Twilight, by far. Who puts more realism into Vampires? True Blood. I've never heard of a story about vampires where you get "sparkled" (wtf kinda shit...) into becoming one. True Blood has a more suitable location, better developed characters, and an amazing storyline. I tried to get into Twilight, I REALLY really did. The way people were talking about it, seemed like a decent book. Nope, that wasn't the case, unfortunately.

    Lolz

    The Robin Williams movie?

    Hahaha

And True Blood is about Vamps coming more or less, out of the coffin, like gays and the closet stuff.

Its not as bad as Twilight, but its not awesome either.

um, i don't really know what true blood is and i know about twilight a little. they constantly make these because all the adolescent love those kind of vampire/love thing stories, i guess. well from what i've read here and on google True Blood sure sounds like the better one out of the two, i will pick that one.

for you guys that like that kind of stuff you should probably take a look at Interview with the Vampire with Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise, i genuinely enjoyed that one.

and for people that like more classic vampires you should take a look at Tom Browning's Dracula, because it's a true vampire, not silly vampire kids and stuff.

I actually like True Blood a lot. I don't get why you people seem to hate it so much.

I find the characters in True Blood to be too cliché, I have never read the books so I cannot weight in on if they are any different.

Though while I might not enjoy True Blood I don't feel it is a bad show, Twilight on the other day is just awful.

Funny side note, True Blood is basically just a parallel to Gay Rights Movement, but if you ever watch the HBO show there is more hetro sex on that show than I have seen on tv in awhile.

30 Days of Night has what I consider to be the best depictions of vampirism.

    It's believable to me.

Never watched True Blood, I saw a few commercials on it when the first season was coming to DVD; the acting quality was extremely horrible. It might not be quite as bad in the show, but the bits they chose for the commercials were so lackluster that I couldn't be bothered to check the show out. That, and it's most likely coupled with the fact that I have very little interest in vampires. (and that is most likely because of both these said shows, among others.)

And I'm not even going to comment on Twilight. No need to.

Good game and I enjoyed LARP but they are not even close... Their Vamps are based on DDO vampires. If you read the first module that Strahd and Ravenloft was introduced in, you can see that the basic social caste that Masquerade uses. Just in Masquerade, they renamed them, and placed the castes in a modern day enviroment.

I don't really think I'm looking for believable vampires, even though before that movie came out I was wondering why vampires didn't all move up to the arctic circle for part of the year.

As for the seizure-ish attacks; it's frenzy. It's a lust for something they are cursed to lust for.

I bet some of you twilight fanboys haven't even read the southern vampire mysteries or read any decent novel whatsoever and just jump on the fangirl bandwagon because "eric loves bella"
Fans don't give it hype for being a really good vampire story.
If they were saying "omg that was so good, those are just how vampires are!" then no, it wouldn't deserve that at all.

You all act like that's what the movie's trying to be, when it's just yes praised as a LOVE story.

People who hate twilight are like people who hate mainstream. They think that once something that they don't like becomes popular it should be hated instantaneously.

Not necessarily, I mean I don't hate Twilight because of its popularity, I just don't like the casting and how the fourth book ruined the series for me. I might've watched the movies...but based on what I've seen, I'm not sure I really would.

[Because the movies might not stay true to the book, and that kind of annoys me.>_>]

I don't hate that manufactured pop exists because it keeps that kind of person away from what I like. Same with Twilight.

A wild Stan Lee has appeared!

They are currently making or rumored of a twilight comic book series.
