(To the mods, if you feel that this should belong in the Tech Section, you can move it - I apologize, but since people check Free MMORPG section more so than the Tech Section, I had to post it here....because I need opinions/advice fast :3)

Oh actually, you might want a little more ram. Just reread it and noticed that. (Thought you had 3 before) If you have a 32bit system just get 3gb of ram. If you get a 64bit system, then go with at least 4gb of ram.

Yea but otherwise, that desktop is top of the line. I'm not too hip with the graphics cards anymore but as far as I know the one you selected is one of the best?

But don't worry, that thing should run anything on Max, except maybe Gta4 and Crysis...

    8.5/10

Graphics card could be better, but will still run anything you throw at.

hmm...i am sort of tight on the budget...so getting an extra RAM chip on top, and possibly getting a slightly better graphics card (according to SnOwBunZz...) will be difficult...

like i said, as long as I can play modern games (definitely NOT playing GTA4 or Crysis...) fine on non-windowed mode and medium-high settings, I'll be happy. :3

Hmm, I hope you are getting a free upgrade to windows 7? (<< Ignore that if it isn't a vista computer)

Anyways, your computer is fine. 8.5/10

Yea, that graphics card should be what you want. I think Snowbunz is saying that it just could be better, which it can. But that should definitely last you for a couple years.

The ram makes everything run smoother. Like for instance, GTA4 uses 1.1gb of ram on my computer, so if you only have 2gb of ram, then that doesn't leave a lot of space for all the other background crap to run and it could lead to an uncomfortable experience.

But I know, you said won't be playing GTA4. I don't know what games you have in mind if you don't feel like running those. I assure you that it can run anything you want.

Personally, I think the extra ram is a necessary addition. Everything else is perfect.

But it you can't find an upgrade, then just get what you have. If you feel like you need more ram in the future, you could always get some. 2gb may work for you, but I like to multitask like a beast

    +1.

Misread the ram amount part. =.="
Speaking from experience, you still will run pretty much everything if you decide to go with vista.
If you can, pick up another 2gbs of ram. It'll increase the speed on everything.

Still holding the 8.5 since you can run everything.

    Well, my specs are:

    GTX 280
    4GB Ram running at 1066Mhz
    Q6600 (Quad) Running at 3.1GHz

I would say those are some pretty good specs.

Whoa that's really cheap for the parts you're getting. Yeah should run games fine on high or very high. Don't expect the max resolution though. 1920×1080 should be fine for you =] My new comp that I'm getting at christmas is gonna be $2000. Hopefully the new graphic cards won't be a disappointment. If you want you could go with more ram. 4gb DDR2 or 4GB DDR3. Shouldn't be that much more.

    Edit: Rating 7/10

his graphic card is fine. I have 9800 gtx + and it can play any game perfectly. The 260 is a damn great card. I say you upgrade the ram and your set a few years.

wow thanks for the replies~ now i know my desktop will run fine....
you guys recommended me getting another 2GB RAM stick? so 3 RAM sticks total? depending on how much each one costs I'll buy an extra. But I think I am gonna try the 2GB RAMs first before buying another one...

also, VISTA gets a free upgrade to Windows 7? Isn't there a downloadable beta out for Win 7 atm?

the monitor I am getting is a HD 21" monitor (as you can see on description)~ not sure what the resolution is on that item, but I guess I might need to lower it...

Get 4GB DDR2. DDR2 is super cheap too. Just download Win7 7600 RTM.

When you download windows 7, You'll only be able to use it until june 2010. After that, your computer will get blocked until you buy a legit version of Windows (XP/Vista/7)
