I should update this but all my effort went into writing this lousy excuse.
I wouldnt call collored forum-named people stupid o.o
and at least not MageMoa.
Your name is funny, I lolled.. anyways, even if its free for 30days, it would be better to just buy the product and... muh, forgot what I was gona say..
*silently retreats back into the shadows of the forum topics*
ppstt: editting just to stay ontopic:
I'd rate your spec 8,7/10.
Your spec is not bad, but I have seen better.
Reputation: 10Well u could cra...*cough*...*cough*..it
Reputation: 26Eh, your graphics card isn't amazing, but it's good. Should run just about every game on the market.
In general, good computer. But for GFX, I would probably aim for HD Radeon 4890 instead of a GTX 60. + It's cheaper to go for AMD parts instead.
8.5/10 since u have a better pc than me
Also i bought mine for 500 bucks 1 year ago
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4800+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.5GHz
Memory: 2048MB RAM
Card name: ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO
Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc.
Chip type: ATI display adapter (0x94C3)
DAC type: Internal DAC(400MHz)
Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_94C3&SUBSYS_200017AF&REV_00
Display Memory: 512.0 MB
Current Mode: 1440 x 900 (32 bit) (60Hz)
Monitor: Plug and Play Monitor
Monitor Max Res: 1600,1200
and i didn't had any problems running any 2008/2009 cracked games<with for some odd reason req more spec>
Reputation: 198isn't GTX 280 a lot more expensive than 260?
and for the processor, I was thinking that AMD is better bang for the buck as well...but my friend that recommended the build prefers Intel...so I'll trust him~ :3 (he has 4 years of experience with computers)
Reputation: 60dumbasses think getting best gcard is the way to go but they are wrong.. even if you get the sickest 600$ card and still run it on a low native res.. ur not going to see any difference. 1680 by 1050, 260 is jsut fine
8/10. It barely beats my laptop.
Reputation: 107.5 cost too much imo but not saying it's a bad computer cause it will last you for a good couple long years
rate my specs
Core i7 oc 3.6ghz
750gb hdd
gtx 275
haf932 case
g.skill 6gb 1600
had a 295 but sold it cause it sucked badly.price 1200
Reputation: 10hmm.
Phenom II 955/965 would be better, its closer to the i7+ it supports DDR3 for future usage.
Graphics card BLEH 4870/4890 because your not willing to spend 300 to get a 280 or better. 4gbs of DDR3.
Reputation: 66Stop showing off. >_> I give it a 8.9-9.3/10. It can run pretty much any game out there right now.
Reputation: 10Actually it's true, unless you plan on doing some serious overclocking, then an aftermarket cooler is usually useless. The cooling (heatsink+fan) that comes with your processor will be more than enough, so getting rid of the cooling fan might save you enough money to get the extra 2gigs of ram you need for free.
Reputation: 30the default heatsink fan will let you oc to atleast 3.2ghz. waste of money buying them. you should be able to play everything on high for years. i can still play most games on high with a 3870 and yours is much faster.
Reputation: 30i'm using 800 ram as well. i wouldn't get 8gb of ram though. you do want 4gb of ram though, or atleast 3.
Reputation: 66I can run at 3.4ghz, barely over my stock vcore, but the California heat is too hot for it to run 24/7, and then there's the aging=lower ghz at the same vcore, so I can't run it all the time..But my motherboard is fine for overclocking. My RAM may not be the best of the best, but most Q6600 can't go over 400FSB without good cooling.
Q9550 can go over 400FSB, how else do people get it to 4ghz? Also, 1066mhz ram is not useless, but useless to most people since most people don't go over 400FSB..Also, it's better to run at 5:6 like I do with 333FSB:400mhz, over 1:1 with 333:333.
Edit: For the second time, I built a possible build for you.
The CPU rivals the Intel CPU. The graphics card is better a majority of the time, even in it's darkest moments, it performs about the same as a GTX 260. Case gives similar airflow, but MUCH, MUCH better cable management, and best of all, it's cheaper.
Reputation: 198hmm...interesting. Sakumo, how would that build compare to the one I posted up in this thread? performance and life-span wise?
If what you say is true...that tweaking the parts a little to get that build is more cost-effective...I might actually go with it.
Not sure if everyone read it, but I'll post it again:
I plan to play these games on high:
CoD 4: Modern Warfare
Mabinogi: Heroes
C9: Continent of the Ninth
F.E.A.R 1 and 2
Prototype (?)
Half Life 2
I plan to at least try to play these games:
Crysis, Crysis: Warhead (just to test out the limits of my rig)
Future mmorpgs and FPS games.
