Don't eat food or drink caffeine filled drinks within an hour or 2 before you sleep.
the food you eat before sleepytime can affect sleep quality and how fast you fall asleep.
dairy products, apples, and turkey can help you fall asleep.
spicy foods can make it more difficult, and can also increase frequency of nightmares.
don't take in any caffeine for several hours before you sleep.
try doing something incredibly boring before you want to sleep, it'll make you drowsier.
Take a drive around, also eat a lot of cheese, there's more tryptophan in cheddar I believe (might be some other cheese) than turkey.

Yeah.. recently it's been taking me a while to fall asleep too.
You could try to force yourself to wake up earlier. Since I fall asleep late, I end up waking up past 12:00 (noon).
Also, reading helps me fall asleep. Maybe it's just the small text? I dunno, but I haven't really been able to read lately cause I have no books at my house.
Get off of the computer earlier? Sometimes it could be the bright screen? (I dunno.. I remember reading that somewhere)
Humm.. you could also try to fall asleep cause you're exhausted. I dunno, lol work out before you fall asleep? Do a whole bunch of sit-ups/push-ups/whatever. It might tire you out. (lol it tires me out)
Stop slacking off...You can't sleep because you are not tired, workout or something.
Should try turning off the computer, stop watching television, or any other thing that may stimulate you about an hour before going to bed.
As others said, too, don't ingest any caffeinated products a few hours before going to bed, that stuff stays in your system for a few hours and could affect your sleeping.
Aside from doing everything I mentioned above, I go for a jog for about 15~20 minutes before going to bed. After that, I tend to fall asleep about 10~15 minutes after getting into bed. Driving around doesn't have the same affect on me.
