Default Is 512 Ram Enough for WoW?

3 Days ago my computer got hit by a Power surge, So Now I'm using a Computer with 512 RAM, 2.8k processer and 64 Video Card RAM Until I get a New One. I was Wondering If I could run wow with that computer because I don't want to Install WoW & Patches, It takes forever.

Oh and Does anyone know how to fix a computer that got hit BY a Power Surge, Is it the power supply or what?

    Thanks.

Uhm, not sure if the graphics card can handle it, but everything else might be okay...

It'll run, but don't expect high fps even on low.
    Forget about raids.

Individual tests of all your parts...
It could be your GPU, CPU, PSU, RAM, HDD, MoBo..... One can be broken, but they can be all broken as well.

Its the Power supply probably... if your computer ran fine for years though then it must been broken..
The computer that got hit by the power surge, Only had it for like 8 months, and it works fine on wow with Med high settings.

Maybe I should take it to a place to fix it up?

Will it be cheaper to repair it or buy a new computer

If your hit by a power surge btw your whole pc is just ****ed. You may be lucky if only the motherboard broke.. But in the worse case everything just melted dude... you'd better get a new pc...

Depends on what is actually wrong with it. I'm not sure how you test each part individually though. I would just bring it to a computer place nearby or something.

I was able to run WoW on the lowest possible settings on an old *** Compaq laptop with 325MB of ram and like a gerbil drawing the graphics. It works well enough but when the raids were packed it was lag city.

yes i used to run WoW with those specs on all low back then and it was smooth..

Also there's new graphical enhancement now in wow but you can simply turn them off.

Yes, you can run it. Don't listen to them.

You can run WoW on a freaking TI-84.

    /exaggeration.

But seriously, I ran it with 30+ FPS with worse specs than that at one time.

your gonna have to run it wit everything on low.
and depending on what res you usually run you may have to lower it, and window the game.
and also, use vanilla UI (aka dont get addons or use only a few low impact ones)

so yeah it'll be playable, but very.. very.. ugly lol

bah, systemrequirementslab is waaay inaccurate at times.

anyways, those specs are just fine to run WoW, even the graphics card.
Just tune down the settings and it'll do fine, though it may lag a little in crowded places.

Well, Im sure u can run WoW with low quality.

    Things u must know

You video card and ram is pretty low

Try to keep your comp clean so u dont waste more ram.

Ingame, Dont use towns with many population or you will be stuck with 0 fps.

And skip raids until you get better comp.

    P4 2.0ghz processor
    512MB DDR RAM
    Nvidia 6200 128MB A-LE

All low settings gave a constant 60 FPS. A bit less around cities.

    You should be fine.

WoW has poor graphics and low requirements, so I'd say yes... But don't expect great framerates...

Break down : If you get surged and your PC doesent work 6/10 times its your Power supply. Now if your PS blew theres a chance your Mobo blew also, meaning you could have also blew your ram and everything attached to the MoBo.

You could have trashed the MoBo. Best way to test anything, Take the ram GFX sound and everything out, start the PC up if it wont start its the PS. Then individually put things back in until it won't start up.
