You're 17, don't live your life to pay back your parents. Their voluntary job was to do what they do.

Thank them by being a good person and grow up into a man. A good, intelligent man who is cultured and isn't another waste that's contributing a big nothing to this senseless society on this mudball planet. Why? Because every second you're alive you steam inexorably toward death. Use your time to make them proud if you wanna give 'em something.

You seem pretty selfless, pretty good quality for a 17 year old.

Pfft, I say do the exact opposite. Do nothing for mankind, make a sh*tload of money and have a damn good time then go out in a blaze of glory. All you get for contributing to mankind is your name in some dusty old book, or if you're lucky then maybe a statue in some random city that's going to be destroyed eventually anyways.

My whole point was that personal, insignificant glories are the only ones the average human ever gets, so make them worthwhile.

Heyy stop making fun of this boyy. What he said was really mature and cuuuute. (:

I +repped him for coming to reality, our parents sacrificed a lot for us, they could have just had an abortion but let us live.

I lied, I read it 'cause I love you. Um, parents won't be there forever obviously. But Moving out at 17 is pretty unrealistic. You'll need to wait till you're atleast 19.

True, you'll have such a hard time. My brother moved out when he was just 17, he had/still is struggling. Wait til you're 19 or 20, your parents won't mind as long as you're building up towards the goal.

oh, OnRPG discussing the meaning of life, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside..

anyways, you seem to have a better grasp of your life than the average 17-year-old. Not many people have the capability to truly be appreciative of what they've been given. Congratulations on finding purpose

If you've only set out to get a job for the first time today, you will definitely not have the means to move out just yet. It takes time, money, and patience. Oh, and money.

To start off-Just jumping into the hot argument here, life is life. You can do nearly anything and that's the GIFT we've been given. Why we're here is debatable but what we do while we are isn't up for discussions it's our own choice.

Now with that said I'd rather live my life and not think about the end, it's something that's going to happen and thinking about what I'm going to do for mankind and what I will do against it honestly puts me in a position where I think I'd be useless to anyone. Regardless our world is ****ed, theres more doing for the bad then the good. There's always going to be the few noble people who do what's "Right" but its black and white. Since we do have this freedom; what is right? Well that for us to decide, I honestly chose to live for the point of living, there doesen't seem to be a significance to my specific body however when the day comes where I can help someone or change something I will, as should anyone. Not saying you should go out of your way, but if the opertunity arises you would have to take it..I hope.

On the father-son note, it's great to see. Doesen't matter how strict or dumb your parents are if they didn't walk out it shows something. Me and my dad virtually hate each other, been in fist fights I've ran away for months at times. But the fact is he never left, he'd push morals onto me and was always there. Just by staying, not walking out on you both your parents sacrificed alot and even if they don't seem like the best they did.

Have kids have a good life do what you chose, the fact others are trying to tell you what to do is saddening to me. It's as if they think you can't make your own choices, you'll end up finding out what you want to do, what your "Purpose" is to say in the least.

I'd much rather die proud of myself, then with greed. Human nature is to be greedy, but we also have that little thing called a cautious. Everything we do we do regret in some form, I'd rather die without regrets.
