@camel01: Haha, sorry mate, but internet isn't exactly the place for ME to pick-up on sarcasm, unless it's very well done and blatantly clear.

    @autophobe: How is S4?

@slick911: Different strokes for different folks? I few of my E-Buddies loved it...

I see posts about getting a job and finding a gf rather than playing games. Jobs, which I have, shouldn't even be mentioned since you should be trying to make money anyway, it's the only way to live in this world. Then when it comes to having a girlfriend or boyfriend, there are people out there who simply aren't looking for a relationship. Some of the couples I see today really disgust me anyway. Happy couples who have been married for years are sweet.

But yeah, if it came to spending 10 hours everyday playing an MMO then it's a waste of time. Yet for those of us who have a job, workout, etc. we'll eventually find out that we'll have a few hours leftover each day with nothing to do with it. Now we all know we can't be going out to the city with friends everyday because it costs money that not everyone has. So in the end we WILL have free time to ourselves, and if we're posting in this forum then we all chose to spend this free time by playing games. If I were to play my piano or guitar rather than play games then I would never have this problem, but instead I want to find an mmorpg to interact with other people and have fun.

I always thought Ragnarok, Mabinogi, etc. would be the games for me, I sometimes find a game to hype myself about but end up disappointing.

Right now, Dragonica is the MMORPG for me, *rant rant about why I like it*. But yea, I'm tough to please with MMOs.

    @REUK

*Sniff* That was beautiful. Well said.

I will never find something perfect but I'll play anything that will keep me entertained for a while. It's not time wasted, just time spent another way.

Edit: @REUK Beautiful post. All I can say. +rep

Anyone who states they've grown out of the use of games seems to have 2k + posts here. THey also claim playing MMO's are useless and you should quit yet seem to stick up for their game quite often.

    Just a good observation ;-).

None the less if you have spare time with nothing good to do MMO's are a good solution, it's not unhealthy. If you don't have something to do all day well play a game all day. It's not good for your health if done often however when school comes around you're going to be forced out anyways ;-0.

I don't play an MMO as of now, but I play guitar and piano to fit my needs in between school. Whatever you want to do with your time is yours. If you're gonna regret it later, then it's your fault for wasting it. I like to play mmos every once in a while, but not all day. As for the instruments, i like music, and hope to find a career in music.

Yep that would be me xD I've had "relationships" before and they always either turned out really ****ed up or I just lost interest in him so I just sort of lost interest in relationships in general >_>; the only good relationships I've had with anyone, mostly meaning friend-type relationships, have always been online, there hasn't been one "real life" relationship that I've had that has actually worked out very well...well besides one I guess but I don't live near them anymore, still talk though.

Anyways, some people have more luck on the internet, some have better luck outside of it, it's a real toss up.

My game is FFXI. I want to play it but I dunno if I can make enough room on my laptop for it....

And also, I think DFO is gonna be my other game.

Well, I've been satisfied by various MMORPGs temporarily.

I try all the newest MMORPGs but the only MMORPG that's truly satisfied me is FFXI.
The problem with that is... I've accomplished pretty much everything in that game. Lots of jobs at level 75, beaten every storyline, etc.

I love it but I just feel like I've beaten the game, and its age is also starting to show. I can't motivate myself to play anymore.

Aion looks promising but it really depends on how much the endgame content satisfies me.

My current plan is to play Aion until FFXIV, assuming I like FFXIV... from there, I don't know.

I've been playing SWG For 5 years now. I played hard-core until the NGE was released, but still enjoy the game. It's a sandbox (mostly, not so much anymore but still is kinda) game. The crafting system is complex, so is resource gathering (used in crafting). There's "the space game", many people play SWG just for space. You can have your own house and decorate it however you like, and I mean really, you can put pretty much anything you have in it, and it'll come out the actual size. It's lots of fun just exploring the different planets or looking at different players houses and seeing how they decorated them, some people even get a large income from decorating peoples houses for them (but you have to gain trust and reputation so people will be ok with it). There's player owned cities.

It's pretty much a paradise for those that love the Star Wars universe, even with all the crappy changes that have come with the NGE, some good ones are coming out too. Like instances, they're very fun. There's also the Chronicler System that is coming out, which will allow players to make their own quest for others to complete. These quest will allow people to get xp (depending on how difficult the quest is) and other rewards, in addition to letting the "Chronicler" who is making the quest adding items and money to the quest rewards from his/her own pocket.

If you like Star Wars I suggest you give it a try, though it is a p2p game. I've spent over $890 (in monthly fee's and buying copies of the game) on it so far, and I don't regret it.

There's also Wurm Online. I played that for about 2 years off and on and still subscribe every once in a while to see how the game is going. I'll most likely move to full-time playing it when it's more "complete", or more features and content is added. It's a lot of fun even now though. You can play on the free servers and easily get 1-2 months of enjoyment playing with a free account, even with all the restrictions. Wurm Online is a true sandbox.

You can build your own home, terraform the land to your liking, build a mine, plant a farm, cut down a forrest ( a favorite past-time for me, nothing like a good tree slaughter), you can fight monsters, and depending which server you choose, you can PvP and fight or steal from other players to gain land or resources or items or money (depending on which server you choose, one server allows for no PvP, no stealing, and no griefing, the other encourages all that). There's LOTS of stuff you can do in Wurm, and from what I see, they only plan to add to the already long list of features. It also has a fun skill system.

Champions Online looks very fun if you have ever had fantasies of being a superhero, I'll probably end up buying it soon, maybe I'll wait til around Christmas.

SWTOR will be awesome for Star Wars fans. Looks very good.

Runes of Magic is really fun if you like WoW-type games (which I do occasionally). I would probably still be playing it now, but I couldn't get past the item shop kiddies.

Planetside is fun if you enjoy MMOFPS (It's currently the oldest and only actual MMOFPS, at least in my opinion).

Most of these are pay-to-play MMO's, but the truth is that you will never get the quality a P2P MMO has to offer in a F2P MMO. The only one that I have played so far that does is RoM, and maybe Crowns of Power, but ROM has a cash shop, and I think CoP does also.

Also, if you feel that you need to be "inspired" to play MMO's again, a good way to do that is to read books for a month or two, spend as much time as you want/can reading sci-fi/fantasy books, particularly Young Adult, and you will find that there is so much that you want to do from those books. That's how it is for me anyways. I'll read a book about a 17 year old from a farming village in some fictional kingdom in a magical planet that becomes a spell-sword or a Knight that is also a mage, and then I'll be inspired to go play RoM and create a Knight/Mage character (since they allow dual classing) and that'll keep me going for 15-20 levels, until you find out PvP is very gay because cash shop kiddies who buy diamonds and get elite gear and WTFPWN you constantly are all over the place.

Or you might read a sci-fi book and want to play SWG or EVE, stuff like that.

Hope this helps, feel free to shoot me a PM if you want. Bye.

    Read what I say.
    It's dead.
    Rose Evo isn't Rose.
It's some ghey spin-off with ******ed limits and nerfs.
It killed the game for basically everyone who played the original version.
Only the newfags still like it.
