Reputation: 366Don't know don't care. They are just not worth the money(at least here). You pay 90% for the name and 10% for player.
Reputation: 424Apple has a "music themed" event scheduled for 9/9/09 (Wednesday). They usually announce new iPods around this time, but many believe it's just an announcement that The Beatles' back catalogue will finally be made available on iTunes (same release date as The Beatles: Rock Band and the band's remastered albums). A Beatles-themed iPod is also in the works, so I wouldn't be surprised if they took the opportunity to update the whole iPod line.
Wait until Wednesday.
i dont wanna end up like my friend who bought a DS, they day before the DS lite was announced
Reputation: 424Apple usually run a programme that lets users who bought a previous generation iPhone a week or so before a new model is announced to upgrade at no cost.
I'm not sure if this applies to iPods, though. I guess it would depend on the model.
Reputation: 132They'll probably make a new one.Thats how it works, they just keep making them to milk more cash.
I've heard rumors of a new generation of iTouch from some friends that work at the Apple Store nearby, but I haven't really cared enough to pay any attention and remember anything. All I know is that if it has a camera, I'm buying one.
Show me where I can buy an MP3 player with all the functionality of my iTouch for $30 and I'll happily film myself taking my iPod and destroying it with a baseball bat. It might be difficult for you from high up there on the bandwagon, but I'll follow through if you do. I promise.![]()
man this is being milked for all its worth. an ipod is just a glorified mp3 player with extra stuff youll either never use or stop using after the novelty wears off.
just like all those people who buy hundreds of apps for their iphone then never even use them.
Reputation: 785Or maybe because each new generation simply has better functionality and more useful features.
I've used older generation ipods for a long time, and only replace when it breaks down, which has only happened like once. Doesn't mean that each new iPod is pretty sweet, though.
I don't know what Apple could do next with the iPod other than making them able to store more.

I should update this but all my effort went into writing this lousy excuse.
buy stocks nao.
I love my itouch.. internet, youtube, + jailbreak = awesome. Honestly though, ITouch is like a mini comp.. and works fast with good connection so I dont complain. Just needs flash.. :O
Reputation: 107Just buy an ipod......30 gigs of music storage should be more than enough for you, last i checked they were a music storage and playback device not a status symbol, but i could be wrong but to me shelling out new money for another ipod with the same amount of storage just seems stupid unless the one you currently have is broken...
id rather buy new speakers for my car or a new graphics card etc
s.w.a.t

How it could have been:
Just my 2 cents;Who needs a shitty MP3 player that plays all audio formats? MP3 player is supposed to play music and thats it. A MP3 player that plays all audio formats is more like a shiny toy just to show others how "cool" you are.
You are a bit of a moron (especially the whole idea of an mp3 player "being supposed" to play other audio formats is a pearl)...
they probably will make another one
my friend will most likely buy another one
They didn't for mine.
Back when I bought my 20gb iPod photo, 2 weeks later the video one came out; 10 more GB of storage, video support, same price. Didn't get any type of upgrade offer, just a point-and-laugh and wanting 300 more dollars.
That's kinda why I'm scared to take the plunge and get a 120gb classic; with my luck, a 160gb one will come out in the next 2-3 weeks. :\
(I've got 250+ GB of music, that's the main reason I'm concerned.)
