Default So i have to say goodbye to gaming for awhile...

With highschool starting tomorrow (freshman), my dad is making me uninstall all my games. Hell, gaming for me isnt that big of a distraction and when i tell him this, he replies stating that i have been playing all summer and thats good enough. Well **** ya, its summer T_T. How would you cope with an entire year of not being able to play PC/Console games.

    Pretty well, probably.

Read more books, and even then I read a lot.

`-`. that's a little dumb, making you uninstall everything. During the summer I was mixing reading (assigned and not assigned books) and playing different MMOs. ontop of that, you're only a freshman, it's not that difficult being one.

But I guess it'll make you have your focus on school progress more then games later on.

Haha, well it's not so bad. Whenever I didn't do well in school my parents would discontinue my internet service, so i had to do my HW and such at the library or school, which also lead me to reading more on my free time. Also the fact that I'm not much a console gamer, since I only have a PS1 and Xbox haha

I started high school last year and playing games hardly made me get bad results.

Perhaps I could have gotten a 17 avg (I have a 15 avg and with 2 years left it's bound to improve) at best if I came home and busted my head studying for the few free hours I have to myself instead of playing a bit.

Games actually make you take some time off from the stress. More than friends and chicks!

After 7-8 hours at school I don't really feel like going on a date or hanging out with my friends for a couple of hours before I go to bed.

Weekends and those blessed days I finish at 1:00 PM is different thought

As someone who started high school in 1999, let me assure you that there is no better time to play games than your four years in high school and your four years in college.

try to have a conversation with him, telling if you can keep your grades up to whatever, then he should let you play how many hours etc....
