Default Star Ocean The last hope now confirmed for PS3. Release date Februari 9

Okay, Star Ocean the last hope is announced to be comming to the PS3. The ability to switch targets, and added voice options, including: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish and Japanese for cutscenes and etc are IN. Interface has been tweaked.. and such.

Also some new characters seem to be included.

So far confirmed for WORLD WIDE similtanious release.

    So what do you think?

Also, its now confirmed that the xbox exclusivity (1 year based) is used to finance a Ps3 port. (in many of these cases)

Sounds like they're doing what they did with Tales of Vesperia. Using the 360 version as a "beta" then releasing the "complete" game onto the PS3

Could be but Tales of vesperia is still not confirmed for any western release.
But.. then again.. tales of games are slow when it comes to announcing and releasing anything to the west.

    Let me rephrase that, then.

Bandai Namco uses the US for beta versions of their Tales... games, while japan gets the "complete" version.

It's one of the reasons I stopped buying console games. I'm not sure if what I'm buying anymore is just a "beta" that's going to be released "complete" on another console or not.

It depends.. xbox owners.. are out of luck with this I guess,, they use the payments for the year exclusivity to make the game better, and the xbox is practicaly non-existent in japan compared to the Ps3.

And now with the slim.. the ps3 is making its world wide comeback.

but then again, it always happens.. We get the better eternal sonata, ToV and now Star Ocean too.. heh..

    Yeah.

I can't wait. Ready and waiting to get the actual version of the game!

    Mwhaha Ps3 > Xbox360

    *Storms off into the night*

In all seriousness. I do find that a bit lame, they shouldn't make the "transfers" so monumental.

Like..okay voice-acting is survivable..but new characters and such? Seems like they should just place in a patch for the Xbox360 version.

The game is only shipping to Japan but, will be available in multi-language rumor has it it's due to licensing issues.

Famitsu scans showed screenshots with English subs so we know there'll be English stuff.

So far, I don't think the PS3 port's worth it because all they're doing is adding a new playable character and changing the Anime portraits into CG portraits like in the US version.

    Well. Damn.
I just purchased Star Ocean: The Last Hope a few days ago, then I find this out.

    How annoying.
Not going to bother getting it.

Good thing I didn't fall into Tales of Vesperia's [Limited] Exclusive pitfall, so at least I'll get that should they release an English/Chinese versions here.
