Default NVIDIA nTune on the nvidia config

So, I got the XFX GTX 275 XXX OC

    I'll put some info here:

    GPU
    Code:
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275
         Manufacturer: NVIDIA
            Chip type: GeForce GTX 275
             DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC
           Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_05E6&SUBSYS_28061682&REV_A1
       Display Memory: 2671 MB
     Dedicated Memory: 879 MB
        Shared Memory: 1791 MB
         Current Mode: 1680 x 1050 (32 bit) (60Hz)
    CPU
    Code:
    FSB: 1300 mhz
    CPU Multiplier: 4x (Quadcore)
    CPU Core: 2600 mhz
As casing I got the Antec Nine Hundred Two.

So, I had a question about the nVidia nTune,
    is it SAFE?
I've always been a scaredy cat on OC'ing, but I found out they had a "Tune System" button.
And I'd love to press it, but I don't want to f*** this thing up since I saved up for 2 years to build my own pc.

    PS.
What should I see as max temp for stuff in my pc? so I'll be sure that the thing won't burn in flames.

I know, but I'm power hungry.

you wont get any gain clocking it anymore . the preclocked cards are clocked for stability and the best gain you will get from them

Not true, they pick the best cards and overclock it to xxxmhz. But in most cases, since they're the best, they can usually overclock higher, but have higher temperatures, which mean they break faster equaling to more replacements..
