UPDATE Which layout do you prefer?

Eh.

Option 1 is a typical style, not that it doesn't like nice, but, it's used by a lot of websites these days and I personally prefer a more original look, as in option 2.

Choice 2, if only for the selfish fact that I find it more aesthetically pleasing and would much rather look upon it than choice 1.

1st one looks like a calendar, whilst the 2nd one reminds me of a wanted billboard.

Hay, I am happy that everyone responded. For everyone that did respond can you look at the third choice and tell me if you like it any less or more then the prior one you voted for.
I know one person said they changed their decision so I changed the tally.

Option 1: clean design, but not liking the color scheme. My eye is automatically drawn to the text in the turquoise box ("Posted by Craig Truzzi...") when I think attention should be drawn to the title.

Option 2: the best one by far. Nice title, proper balance and a great complimentary color scheme. Fonts are all the right sizes to draw the reader's attention to the right places.

Option 3: dislike. Green search button clashes with the green horizontal bar. Colors don't match well.

the facebook/social networking buttons are the big seller there
