What Makes a Memorable Main Character
Alright, this is a big question, in your eyes what makes a memorable main character in a video game (such as mario, sonic, marcus), is it his attitude, his clothes, or crazy spikey hair(cloud, ha) anywho, as i said, what for you makes a very memorable main character?

I like heroes and heroines with major weaknesses that they have to conquer in order to complete the game's mission.

A question to the topic opener though: did you mean what makes a character memorable in a good sense? Sometimes the word "memorable" has a pleasant undertone. Or did you just want a discussion about what makes a main character stick in your mind? Reason I ask is that the criteria becomes far narrower if the former is used.

I always enjoyed a character with realistic goals, and a character that doesn't sound 12 or act 12. I'd have to say Star Ocean: Till the End of Time did an excellent job on this.
I also hate when the character is COMPLETELY unaware of what is going on (Tidus and Vaan come to mind instantly)
A character that has some emotion. Not someone (Like Squall) who is just an emo.

Characters gotta be ill like Vivi. Although oblivious, he is very kind, smart and innocent. Let alone he is insanely powerful. I love mages. He will always be my favorite black mage.
Lulu was a very well created character also- a ***** but informative and nice. amazing character design also.
Sora, Riku and Kiari did not have annoying character qualities. I like them.

I love how he used a gun too.
But i hated how there were espers instead of the old summons. I'd like to see Bahamut not in airship mode.
Also its dumb how the last boss is a airship thing.
