High School battle of the bands approved songs?

Who cares if people will headbang or not? As a musician the most important thing to you should be playing the style of music YOU want to play. Get up on stage and rock out some god damn Pantera and have fun with it. Don't play what you think every body else will want to hear,that's how so many good bands turn crappy.. because they decide to change their style to what others want to hear so they can make money. So yeah man, just play what you want regardless of what the crowd might think.

Yeah, but my now three-man band doesn't want to play any Pantera, they wanna play something that even the simple-minded can sing along to. ( I am referring the simple minded to everyone except the metalheads or even the punks, around two, because the rest are into pop culture) And I don't want to say that i don't want to play a song just because it's mainstream, even though i hate it. As a musician, i always thought that you use try different styles of music, and mesh in the one you like, and discard the ones you don't like. Just gotta Drag the Waters bro...

I don't think that's entirely true, If we play something like Dimmu Borgir, i doubt anyone would like it (especially the teachers, it's a Catholic school). It all comes down to what they like, or what the band likes as a whole. As soon as we got that down, im sure we will play it enough untill it sounds good...
