Why would people now want to live to 1000? That's ridiculous.

Sure, it sounds awesome. But think of how...tiresome it'd become. It just seems like 100-1000 is...way too long of a lifetime.

If they were quality years (E.G. you had the body of a 25 year old), yeah sure, hook me up, if they were not (E.G. you had the body of an 85 year old), no thanks.

I'm not really sure humans should be figuring out ways to extend their life by 6 times considering how bad we are at population control.

In my eyes life is short, 50 years, half of those are not as good as they should be.

We reach our prime around our 23rd birthday, after that we begin to die, everything starts to deteriorate.

But, this elixir seems useless if there is an afterlife. Life is full of suffering and happiness, depending on how you live your life, what makes you happy, and whatever unfortunate things happen to you, you will decide if you want another seven hundred years.

I would drink it, because in maybe 700 years they would be able to extend life indefinatly.

Bah I rather wait for Singularity and opt for a cybernetic prosthetic body.

The human body is too fragile.
And haha you'd have to love yourself immensely to wanna be the same way you are now for a thousand years.

Plus think of the negative effects. A lot of horrible people like celebrities and possibly dictators or tyrants could also get to live a thousand years. Some people shouldn't live past their lifetime. But heh who will get to judge who gets to live a thousand years and who doesn't?

If you bathe in fetus juice you can live forever. On a more scientific note, if you could stop DNA degradation and stimulate cell regeneration you could live forever. Unfortunately some cells just don't divide after they mature.

Well hmm it's funny. The best way to live longer right now is to be on a low calorie diet. If you keep your body in a state of famine mode then well your body will be healthy longer and you will live longer. You just have to be smart about taking care of yourself.

But lol this elixir sounds more like a lazy way out of having to be responsible for your body. True there are some things you can not control like the aging process, but hmm if someone could live a thousand years....They'd either be a saint or a real grouchy ***.

Perhaps they should allow people who do opt to drink this elixir the right to kill themselves after they have lived long enough.

    Yes, I would.

Just because I can't die by ageing doesn't mean I can't be killed in other ways, I mean, if life got to the stage I'd prefer to be dead, then, so be it. But, in terms of immortality, no.

I'd do it for all of the knowledge I would gain.

But I'd hate to live 1000 years. F*ck that.

I wouldn't want to live 100 years, but I'd certainly like to not get old.

If I could live to be 80, and still be exactly how I am now, I'd be happy.

But living for longer? No thanks.

Yeah, but think! they always get bad movies and books made about them! So it's all good.
