    Default Favorite MMO setting/place/atmosphere

I'm not sure....I going to say Runescape because it was the first thing that came into my head. In Runescape you could actually go into every house and there was just so much to explore and the map was HUGE. Although the graphics weren't the best the depth outweighed it in terms of graphics.

At the moment I'm playing Imagine (Megaten) Online and the setting is so bland and depressing. I've always hated the whole apocalyptic setting ever since Fallout3 because its just so bland and boring. Imagine online is just like that, the setting is really depressing and boring. If they had continued to do the whole modern day Tokyo setting like in all the other SM games then I think Imagine Online would be much much better.
Think about it, the Malls could be like dungeons or something and you could travel in the malls and shops and see amazing scenery like Tokyo at night with its Neon lights.

But nope instead we get miles and miles of barren wasteland. I think this is partly because the developers were to lazy to make it more "interesting". In general I wish more MMO's did modern day city settings. There are just WAY to many ancient asia settings or setting where its just miles of grass in general. Developers really need to put more emphasis on the atmosphere in games because it can make or break a game sometimes. modern day settings would be a nice change from all the other crap we've been getting lately, infact i cant think of a MMO with modern day settings at all. Other than RAN online but that game was old and it flopped.

Phew got that off my shoulder, your turn.

I'm honestly going to agree with you,
The IDEA of runescape with having so many skills and what not was amazing,

I'm STILL waiting for someone to come out with a game with Runescape except, BETTER graphics, BETTER controls such as wasd, and for the hell of it, Maybe make the combat system wayyy more amazing?

Yea that would be the game of my heart even if it was still requiring membership to have fun.

    But until then,
Runescape stills stays on java and browser base, Keeps the same lame hit hit combat, And still has point to click movement.

A boy can only wait till a good game comes out with those concepts.

Myst Online, even though I've never actually played it.

Bacn is a sucker for the Myst series, even if Uru was horrible. Just can't beat the feeling of the D'ni city. Unless of course you could care less about Myst.

I really like Vana'diel in its entirety. The environments are so expansive and detailed, and it certainly has some interesting inhabitants.

Anyways i just remembered elder scrolls oblivion had a nice scenery as well....

GAH but to many games these guys are just making huge amounts of land with nothing but dirt, grass and some trees. its so annoying.

The online one was great from the demo I played..

It's a shame though I never really DID get to play with some people,

And It was the first myst I played that was free roam in first person view AND third person view.
