I got my Flu shot about a month and a half ago. Odd though, I seem to have become immune to the flu and have been pretty darn healthy. I bet the Government is behind this! They want me to be healthy so I'll let my guard down. Hah! I bet that's when Big Brother will get me..

    Those sneaky bastards...

Wow thats really sad =/ I feel horrible for that couple, something as small as getting a flu shot just ruined their lives. Hopefully they come across something to control the frequency of the seizures or reverse the side effects in the future. My heart goes out to both.

Getting a good old fashioned flu shot doesn't (normally) harm you.

It's those damn mexican flu shots you should be worried about, they haven't been properly tested & in some cases have worse side effects then getting the actual flu.

    Never had the flu.

Don't see why I should risk it.

Well I've never once gotten a flu shot, and this just helps solidify my decision not too. Sure it's rare, but no point even taking a one in a billion chance.

I don't think it really matters.

Either way, you're injecting a small amount of a deadly sickness into you; which is why I refuse to get a flu shot.

You get injected of a weaker flu virus, so your body can act and fight it. Your body now recognize the virus, so if a normal virus enter, then your body kills it quick. Her case is very rare. But if you dont take the shot, then you are more likely to get the flu, which can also be deadly.

I think there is a higher chance of getting something deadly without the flu shot than getting something deadly with the flu shot.

If people actually paid attention to statistics then they should be scared to drive a car, cook in the kitchen, play football, ride a bike, swim at a beach ect ect.

Well, TO ME, the issue has always been, the chance to catch something if im exposed to it, or purposefully taking a chance. Admittedly, not taking the shot may have a lower chance overall, id still make the same decisio

Wow. I feel really sorry for her, that has to suck...

I honestly don't feel like getting it, and I've never gotten the flu except once, and it really passed over me pretty quickly.

Anybody on here already heard how the senior administration officials in Germany purposefully ordered a different swine-flue vaccine than the one that was purchased for all the risk groups (only 35 million people) that are required to get non voluntary vaccinations?

What a beautiful, brave new world.

I really can see how much better one would feel, naturally, when just ordering someone else to get a shot, than when having to comply equally. However, having the granted uncontested right, as a matter of course, to factually pull it of, must leave a marvelous taste of power.

    i find this amusing.

the flu shot would not have been the issue.

its simply her body rejecting it.

while this is sad, i think its stupid people assume its all because of the flu shot. which its not.

Infact the same people who blame the flu shot for this, blame the flu shot for their kid having autism.

which is complete bs and simply parents trying to find something or someone to blame so they feel better about the situation.

also don't believe everything in the media, its blown up so some stupid proportion most times and its warped beyond recognition

If her body is rejecting the flu shot and thats what caused this condition, then it's still the flu shots fault.

well do we know if she didn't have some form a medical condition before hand that made getting the flu shot a bad idea?

i never see the point of a flu shot personally, but sometimes i feel with stories such as this there is more to it then we are told.

She's like 1 in 30 million people who got the flu shot. Those odds are pretty low, if you were giving a 100% not to get sick with a 1/30000000 you'd take those odds.

I would not thats 1/30000000 ill be a ****ing cripple with no chance of a normal life ever again over i might get a flu that only kills small children abd elderly people...and even then it not very effective at it..oh cant forget the unhealthy middlegaed person who died what was she like 400 pounds?

ya no thanks ill take it after it has had plenty of testing as you can see they clearly did not test it enough...i feel really bad for her to go from a career in cheerleading to barley able to stand and walk must be ****ing devestating.

Well, by your logic, for people having an bad allergic reaction to something they were not aware of, then it's their fault because their bodies just couldn't handle it?

The fact is, it is the flu shot that triggered it, but it is neither parties' fault and no one is to blame, considering little is known about the cause of Dystonia. This is just an unfortunate event.

I'm glad she can be perfectly normal while running, that's just fantastic.
