Ragnarok is not like MS or mabinogi so u cant really compare them. I would get on the free valk server and see how u like it.

if you don't think you'll end up playing all the way to transend.
then go ninja, they cant transend BUT there very easy to use for beginners, they level fast, there alot of fun.
AND there ALOT (i mean ALOT) stronger then any non transended class
gunslinger and taekwon are also alot stronger then non transended characters but ninjas, specially magic ninjas, are very easy to build.

and as dnuggz said, do some research on builds and such.
ragnarok is a very easy game to fck up your character if your too careless on builds.
also be sure to base your builds on the gear you plan to use at 99.

i do plan on going transcended, but a ninja would be fun to have as well, so it seems.

how is the monk side of the acolyte tree?

    My first experience with Ragnarok..
I went out on the fields to do a quest ( to kill like 20x monsters )
So, I was searching for a few minutes and finally found a monster I was looking for.. killed it, searched for 2minutes,3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-15 minutes.. and I could not find a single monster.. appearantly that was the only monster on the map and the respawn was slow.. like 20min O.o

The game is probably the most popular 2.5D game out of what I know and have heard...

Why is RO so good? I played it for awhile and it turned out to be was a major grindfest for everything.
