Jesus Christ this thread is making me cry. Can we just agree that both operating systems are over-priced and over-produced corporate software used by people who think they know a lot about computers but really don't, because if we did we would be using Linux by now?

I honestly like Windows because I'm accustomed to manually getting rid of viruses via regedit and adding new hardware with device manager and so forth. I'll admit that I have limited exposure with macs as I do not own one. The only thing I'm really accustomed to using is key access which I used to help my mom when she had a bug on the macbook I bought her in June. I'm not as comfortable with using terminal as I am with command prompt.

This discussion is literally going around in circles. You bought it, you use it. End of story. It is possible to run mac on windows using a type of serial plug. Even though Mac has Parallels which is more encouraged. However I've used parallels and I absolutely hate it. I've had various issues with account permission where it's gotten a bit messy. But it's nice that the option is always there. Boot Camp on the other hand has been wonderful and has treated me very nicely at the computer labs on campus. Take it or leave it, an advertisement is an advertisement. And corporate America wins either way if you choose to endorse Mac Osx or Windows.

Windows 7 is freaking amazing. I just gained 6 GB on my hard drive because Vista ate it up somehow and the customizable window options... are to die for. I finally finished downloading my free student copy and it is simply lovely. It feels like my RAM is finally being fully recognized for once.

    Ahem. Sorry about that.

Macs are more secure than Windows. From what I heard Mac can't get virues or any malware, spyware. True, there are some that exist for Macs but you actually have to install them inside your PC to get infected.

(heard it from some that computer geek Admin here at ONRPG)

Mac>PC in terms of social work

    PC>macs gaming

And I like the Mac theme and the anesthetic. IT is wayyyy better than PC.
Well macs are not open source like stated before. And if the mac was as popular as the pc you would see more viruses, spyware etc etc.

PCs still hold a great majority of the market.

    PC > Macs in work

    PC > Macs in gaming

PC > Macs in everything except being for people who know little about computers and don't want any creativity.

Macs are for people who liked to be controlled by apple and led on a leash. They are spanked and forced to buy what apple wants them to and charged for repairs the way apple wants.

Apple can go to hell and stop producing shit so that people will stop buying their stupid shit and other people will eventually start producing useful shit.

To me, the feeling of mac to pc is like java to c++ >_>

I don't know about your statement about having and old mac being durable and is still running, but I also have a very old PC using PIII (668mhz) with 768mb ram (512mb+256mb), same for my even older machine that was running windows 3.1. they are both still in perfect shape running right now.

Only damage part for my PIII was the damage geforce4 mx440 agp was when i got angry with my parents and literally threw the pc across the room twice, and pulled out all the cable like a savage beast. but that was pretty much all the damage it had, and it is still running. So don't even talk about internal and external durability.

I utterly can't stand the mac when using it, pc for me. the only thing the mac has going for me was the docking and that's about it, but you can find good docking software for windows as well.

With the mac, I had to dumb down my network security just so that the MAC can even connect to it.

Also, I had to literally go through 8 different network printers to get it to work, even those ranging from $500+ cannon, hp, brothers, lexmark, etc. printers, MAC & PC compatibility my ***. The retailers thought was crazy exchanging all the printer and just got a refund and gave up. I even made the employees face red when they thought they knew more than me about computers when they don't even know the basic specs of the hardware because they did not take the time to look at the product specs right on the box.

Seriously, I can keep on going about things i hate about MAC, but that won't change the views of anyone. everyone has their own taste and preference.

Honestly, I like Linux far better than MAC even tho I don't use Linux often.

    Win Win

Well Glad you people hate Macs because Macs are awesome!!
Virusmakers do no target Macs as there is little to no gain from it (in $$$ that is).
Mac has around 60viruses while Linux only has about 6 (and windows a few million).

If Mac would be popular, it would have alot more viruses and it would install itself as well, nothing is hackproof.

If you are using Macs simply for the less virus issue, you are completely ignorant, yes, ignorant. Why? Get a simple AV and you won't have any real virus issues. If you still say it has less viruses, you might as well go to Linux for that.

Oh and you are on a gaming forum. There is barely any to no love for Macs here.
Wrong place to preach your own bias, as we all know Macs run games like shit and that if they do run.
