Videos for Ipod

Unfortunately the tech corner is dead and I wouldn't expect much from there in a few hours or even days, so I need your help general. I just bought an ipod from a friend and I want to put a video on it, I know how to convert the video for itunes and all but the first problem is nothing showed up, no video or sound. So, I searched around and downloaded a bunch of codec programs. Now the video shows, but the sound doesn't. Anyone ever experience this?

I do have ac3filter, ffdshow, 3ivx, klite codec things.

Well, the first video that had no video and no sound I put it on my ipod, no video and sound appeared. I haven't tried using the one with the video working but no sound, but I read that if it doesn't work on quicktime, then it won't work on itunes. I would try it using it on my ipod, but the conversion takes about 30 minutes to complete, so I don't really want to waste time. It's a nano :P

What's your source for the movies?

I've ripped several films off of DVDs and converted them for Touch using DVD Decrypter and Handbrake. Never had any issues, though it takes quite a while.

Well.... I dled entourage episodes from Icefilms which use videos from megaupload. Not sure if this matters, but beside the end of the file name says .hdtv.xvix-notv.avi
