Education if done right is key to keeping a stable and healthy society.

People seem to be concentrating on punishment rather than educating. Kind of like how we are so against kids having consensual sex that we try to forbid it in every way. There will be kids who still go and have sex and yet no one is educating them about sex or the natural consequences of it. They are all so bent on denying it.

If I was a parent and I didn't want my child to cross the street without me I would just tell him not to but I would also explain to him why.

People seem to think educating children about things they should not do is going to make them commit those crimes but I think it works better as a deterrent rather than just telling them no without an explanation.

Sure some kids will go and do stupid things no matter what you tell them and that is when you have to just let them learn on their own.

It's not just the parents who have to teach the children but the community around them too.

Good luck with that society has always and will always have an " An it's all about me" mentality it's natural. People for whatever don't want to get involved even if it can save a life in SOME cases.This is why you get so many jaded people. As for this case I think it's just shitty kids who are selfish a-holes. They are the kind of people you just don't put any kind of trust in. It all depends on the animal some help each others some don't it can go both ways with humans. So with humans you can never really tell what action a person might take. With animals there are benefits to working together or alone. It's not so simple with humans their are so many things to take into account. The mental state of the person, how they feel towards the person involved, what their morals are ect.... In some cases the person may be worse off but how will it affect them. Like with serial killers they don't see what they are doing as wrong and some don't care that they don't have anyone who loves or cares for them. So to them at least they are not worse off.

Well the cases with people who are psycho path killers and kill for fun it's different. Studies have shown that people which have these type of behaviors can be linked to brain damage in a certain area. Genetics also play a role.

But yes it's hard to determine who is going to kill and steal from you. It is usually done from experience. The laws don't exactly prevent killing or other crimes either. It is more of a way to get people who already committed the crimes off the street.

But you should easily see that killing, stealing and other similar crimes are damaging to society and our species. And the reason our species is still in existence is probably due to the fact that there are enough people out there who know these facts and want to preserve society.

The people who are all doom and gloom are no help and just as damaging to a society as a person who actually does kill or steal.

You hit the nail on the head we are no worse or better than we were thousands of years ago we just think we are. As for people who are all gloom and doom they are just as bad as people who are all happiness and sunshine. The world is not black and white it come in 16 million shades of gray people who don't see that are fooling themselves.

Not really, we have police here that do random checks to people on the streets that they deem suspicious and crime has been reduced drastically because of it. You cant judge the world's police by the actions of your own.

The issue really is, the law protects criminals.

That's really the sad truth of this world we live in.
