    Default I dont understand Anime

First off im not here to bash it, just want some things straightened out.

First, Why are all the girls so..perfect..
Second, I rarely see any black people Only white people with big eyes
And this leads me to my next question, Why the big bubbly eyes?
Lastly, Why do the plots change so fast? I miss one to two episodes of a anime show (like naruto or inyu-yasha) ad im lost, despite the re-cap thing.

That is all, Thanks for any answers, i would love to be enlightened on anything you think i should know

I know it can be scary sometimes but don't worry it's more afraid of us than we are of it.

First, Why are all the girls so..perfect..
It depends on the anime you watch, since there are plenty of animes with girls who aren't so perfect. However, many animes do tend to idealize girls and women since they are intended mostly for a young male audience who wants to see that kind of stuff.

Second, I rarely see any black people Only white people with big eyes
First off, this is because Animes are usually set in Japan. Second, they are not white people, they are usually Japanese who are in Japan. Some animes, though, will be drawn in the same style as other animes set in Japan, but will be set in Europe. One way to tell is the hair color: Europeans and Americans in animes tend to have lighter hair.

And this leads me to my next question, Why the big bubbly eyes?
Why does Die Hard have explosions? Why is Paradise Lost done in poetry, not prose? You may as well ask these questions, because the answers are the same: it's a matter of style. It is simply the style of anime. I personally like anime eyes. If you don't like them, that's fine. It's a matter of taste, too.

Lastly, Why do the plots change so fast? I miss one to two episodes of a anime show (like naruto or inyu-yasha) ad im lost, despite the re-cap thing.
Not all animes are this way, so I can't judge.

I think the target audience is younger males in Japan, everything the shows do relate to that audience.

Perfect women and characters they can more easily relate to (or imagine themselves being [lighter skin]) = more people watching. Plot changes quickly because they need to keep people with short attention spans entertained? The eyes (I think) are a form of pedomorphisis (look how Mickey Mouse turned from a rat like guy to a rounded baby-faced mouse), people think those things are cute.

Umm isn't Karakura Town from bleach like a fictional place in tokyo? Do Japanese people not live in tokyo? I mean the characters in bleach even go to like Japanese schools. Also in gundam 00 how come when they go to that place in the middle east or w/e they have like the same skin color as realife people in the middle east? Also in gundam 00 they had africa and the people their were dark skinned like africans.

Well, i hope my POV can help answer your questions.

    1. The girls aren't necessarily "perfect" but in most series specializing in fanservice or the ***** genre, they pretty much have these so called "perfect" figures. Its all pretty much to attract new watchers, usually around the 14 years olds and beyond.

    2. There are quite a few black people in some animes that i could name, but you're mostly right. Majority of the characters in anime are of lighter skin color, most likely because Japanese people aren't black? lol

    3. The big bubbly eyes have no particular reason. Every artist/manga/animator has their own way of drawing or showing certain facial expressions. Its through these that the viewer can closely relate to how the character(s) is feeling. IE: A certain death or something of the sort.

    4. Plot definitely changes VERY fast in most animes BECAUSE they have 12 episodes to give out the meat of the story. Now, this doesn't necessarily apply to the bigger series, like Naruto or Onepiece. But, most new and upcoming animes only have one season to show their stuff. New animes come out on the same channels about every season. (Spring, summer, winter, fall.)

For example, a list of all the Fall animes that were just released a few weeks back.

I, for one, still enjoy anime, mostly for a deep plot/storyline (especially those that give off a light-hearted feeling, romance, etc). Its just like watching any other tv show on hulu.com for me. Really, though, rather than watching the anime, i would prefer reading the manga for a less "rushed" experience. All of the details that weren't included in the anime(s) would be in the mangas as well.

Agreed, I'm black and I'm sure I dont need to explain why, but I hate the way black people are drawn in anime. Its the same in EVERY single anime.

Also like someone already said, they aren't white their pretty much allways Japanese living in Japan. In alot of anime you will see that the school buildings and home areas, etc. look almost exactly identical.

Not every single anime is like what you just said. In some anime they have some other races. Anime does have race in it all depends on the anime though. Like for example Code geass and their crap about being Japanese. Yeah like Xen said most of it is based in Japan.
