Default songs/song quotes that have inspired your life

    mine would be

    Uhh, uhh, yes, yes
Y'all wanna know, why he don't stop
Y'all wanna know, why he don't flop
Let me tell you pe-eople why
Came from the bottom of the block I
When I was born, it was sworn, I was never gon' be shit
Had to pull the opposite out this *****
Had to get my ri-ide on
Eyes on the prize, Shawn knew I had to
Had to had to get these chips
Had to make moves like Olajuwon
Started out sellin dimes and nicks
    Graduated to a brick
No exaggeration, my infatuation with the strip
    Legendary like a schoolboy
Crushin merely nearly every every chick
Heavy shit - that's how schoolboy got whipped
And got left on some "Just +Me, Myself and I+"
    On some Trugoy shit
Had your boys threw place up, to a place of no return
Had to play with fire and get burned
Only way the boy ever gon' learn
Had to lay way in the cut, 'til I finally got my turn
Now I'm on top in the spot that I earned

    Jay-z - my 1st song

is this going to be one of them "quote your entire pet-song that nobody else will read but i hope someone notices it and says yeah i love that song you are so cool" threads?

also, in before somebody posts something with fifty verses or dragonforce.

incidentally i dont think one song has inspired my life although there is alot of music thats made me feel better/worse at different times. music is good.

It hasn't really altered my perspective on life or anything, but it's something i listen to when i'm feeling sad to cheer me up. Closest thing i can think that a song has done to changing my life..

    CCCRAWWWWWLLLLLINNNNGGGGGG IN MY SKIN!

THESE WOUND THEY WILL NOT HEAL!

    FFFEAAARRR IS HOW I FALL!

    CONFUSING, CONFUSING WHAT IS REAAALLL!

    Sorry, I had to.

In seriousness though, no song inspires my life. I don't believe them to be that meaningful.
And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear.

You shout and no one seems to hear.

    That world is calling
So I'm crawling back to sea
Against the surge of waves that
Held us, with that ancient grip beneath
    Retreat to safer waters

    Goodass Chevelle song, Saferwaters.

Common State of Inner Violence, made me slightly more misanthropic. Was influenced by a kid who did a school massacre then shot himself and about how the parents felt no remorse and other stuff in the lyrics that's a bit self explanatory.

    Deserving wonderful baby
    In despite of that defect
Of listening to that wild music
    And than playing war videogames

    But you are lucky man
Because I've got some plans for you
    Refined violin lessons
    And the most celebrated school

Poor baby, he uses his violin
Poor baby, almost well as a machine gun
    Poor baby, insanity from adolescence
Grows through me a killer from hell

    The rising sons throw away
    All their father's dreams
    Don't let me be born
    If you didn't live

The only right was the grandfather
    He said: "finally he's gone"
    While parents threaten suddenly
    "We'll grow another one"

    Just you must know
Your guy is not so wise
    To grow behind your violin
Take your eyes to this massacre
    Was it your dream?

    This story tells to me
    Don't let me be born
    If you did not live

Your guy is not so wise
    To grow behind your violin
Take your eyes through this fire

A lot of older songs are very meaningful. Some new ones too. Most the new songs, especially most rap, are meaningless. The lyrics are basically:

"Yo mother ****er, i wanna smoke some weed, then i gonna disrespect this ***** and *** on her back. I'm da mother ****ing best. Everyone else is shit. Look at all my gold chains and my mouth jewelry. I'm gonna dance like an idiot and call it da stanky leg. **** WHITE PEOPLE!"

    And that's about it.

Hysteric by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs is the most meaningful song to me, but I wouldn't say it has inspired my life. It just represents very important things to me (and a very important person as well).

True, but, I don't believe that a song lasting a few minutes can inspire an entire lifetime.

That's not to say they're completely meaningless, but, I don't find them meaningful enough to have "Inspired my life".

Okay, i see what you're saying. I don't believe a song can inspire an entire life either. But there are a lot of songs that inspire me. Not for my WHOLE life. But they definitely inspire me!

    Windmill, Windmill for the land.
    Turn forever hand in hand
Take it all in on your stride
    It is sinking, falling down
    Love forever love is free
Let's turn forever you and me
    Windmill, windmill for the land
    Is everybody in?
