    Default China Ripping-off Anime

Earlier today I ran across an article with the blazing headline "China Rips off Pokemon, Naruto, and Digimon", and being a fan of all things, I had to take a look. Central China Television, a state-run broadcasting company, has recently started to air a series called "Dragon Baby". It's an anime about dinosaurs, but supposedly it borrows heavily from the characters and plot devices of such "classic" animes as Pokémon, Naruto, and Digimon.

The heads of the CCTV company showed a lot of gaul on the situation, too. When confronted about this so-called anime rip-off buffet, they responded first by saying that the issue was with the anime's producers and not the broadcasting company (which is very true), and then by letting the public know that they didn't see a problem. Said a spokesman for CCTV: "This is a rip off? What's being called a rip? What's being called a copy? Please think first, then talk."

I went snooping for another one of the anime's supposedly ripped off, and I was shocked when I discovered "Soul's Window".

The original article made mention of rip-offs of "Crayon Shin chan" and "5 Centimeters per Second", so I went looking for some examples of these knock-offs. And I certainly found one in the Chinese anime "Soul's Window". This anime isn't just another rock in the Cliché sea anime -- "Soul's Window" is an almost frame-for-frame plagiarism of "5 Centimeters per Second". Apparently it's garnered a lot of hatred from the anime community, but as a writer and storyteller, I have no tolerance for such blatant plagiarism.

Take a look at some images of the Chinese "Soul's Window" and the Japanese "5 Centimeters per Second". "Soul's Window" images are on top, and "5 Centimeters per Second" images are below them:

    Soul's Window

    5 Centimeters per Second

    ================

    Souls' Window

    5 Centimeters per Second

What can you say about this?? D: sad isn't it??

Well hmm there are similarities in a lot of things if you look hard enough. :3 China probably sees anime as just another way to make a profit.

I'll agree with you... the reason they made it because they thought nobody would notice..

But If you do a bit research and thanks to internet they were busted..

Anyway another example is the Anime "D.Grayman"

YES! CHINA COPIED D.GRAY-MAN!!That's why the manga is still on-going and late to update. They are busy filing a sue to China..

China is well known for ripping off nearly everything. I have yet to see something ORIGINAL coming from that land.

Ever heard of gunpowder, compass, paper and printing?

    But that's ancient china.

Communist China copyright laws are almost inexistent.

I know about ancient China, but this one is something totally different and is nowhere near the old one.

A few dudes copy an anime AND SUDDENLY THE THREAD TURNS INTO A COMMUNISM/CHINA HATING EXTRAVAGANZA.

I live in Canada and i have noticed all of Top universities in IT are flooded with Chinese ppl. Why? because they have better grades, discipline, and that is something that they could never copy from others.

Keep your eyes off anime for in the future, when IT is controlled by said Chinese people, you shall cry in a corner.

Don't hate on all Chinese people, hate on those Chinese people. China was a 3rd world country and is just starting to get to our level of lifestyle and to do that, they must catch up (which requires some copying). When they do catch up, you will see new things coming up. You just wait.

Btw Theoretically, Communism should be perfect, but some corrupted dictator always corrupts the fk out of it. Even the bible says it "In god's eyes, we are all equal"

IF the copied version is better than I'll forgive them. But if its worse, I won't. There is nothing wrong with taking someone else's ideas and making it better and then selling it for profit. That is the definition of human ingenuity.
