They keep opening new servers often enough... typical drill. First they fill up with powergamers and arrogant highbies from other servers. After a few weeks the population normalizes.

I remember when this game first came out.

God, it's horrible now . Same thing happened with Runescape.

All that I can't argue with, it's true. Still, Tibia's a hard community to get into. Sure no MMO is or was ever all sunshine and rainbows, you're bound to find enemies the sooner or the later, but still too many people on Tibia grieves "for the lulz", killing people, looting corpses or sometimes even saving themselves being marked as PKs by trapping people with monsters... just because they can.

In my case it's not something I can't deal with (otherwise I wouldn't be playing on Danubia for quite a while), but the average MMO community nowadays is too carebearish and nerd-raging to put up with that kind of crap. It's what I'm pointing at here, if you hop onto an open PvP server on Tibia, get ready to die the very minute you set your feet off the chapel once you hit the mainland after level 8.

Oh and just for the record, I'm not the famous "Tharkas" from the Tibian old days, I had been using the same nickname for a while before I first heard of the guy.

actually, once you play tibia for awhile, you actually develop a sense of streetsmarts.

for example, when I hunt, I check for recently killed bodies, this gives you a clue if the hunting area is hot or not, I also keep a look out for groups of people, since they tend to be group pkers.

but to be honest, the first thing i do when ever i start on a new server is find friends, they may not come at once, but they eventually pop up, and some can be great to have, though at times i always remember being peer pressured into joining a group pk.

They hit 75k during summer, right now theres 46k on, and yesterday it was in the 60's

though, not all in one server, they're all split up i think with max pops of like 900-1k

The only real friends I have are from about 5 years ago when I used to be addicted to Habbo and we've developed a strong bond (we talk on XBL ect) I just don't feel comfortable talking to complete strangers.

Anyway about Tibia, I'd really love to get into it but the who 'pay2win' puts me off big time.

Finding friends mmos really is just based on what type of a player you are, im a talkative person, so i tend to draw in alot more attention than most solo players, and yeah its some what difficult to get friends when you first start a mmo, but as always they come with time.
