    Default PART Files?

So i was downloading stuff with firefox, then all of a sudden my internet dies. I click resume and the download restarts with nothing. Im left with a 5.9gig PART File while the file im downloading is 7.2 gigs, is there anyway to resume the download starting from 5.9? Sorry if this was suppose to go in tech corner.

Firefox 3.0 creates PART files everytime you download something. They're supposed to delete themselves after the download is finished but seeing as you internet died suddenly it never got a chance to delete the extension and leave you with a file. When you pause a download the PART extension is what enables firefox to resume the download and pick the right file, or at least that's what I'm assuming. Go to Tools > Downloads in Firefox and see if you can just hit resume. If it works great. If not I suggest aquiring a download manager.

Even with a download manager, some websites don't allow resuming. Like Rapidshare and Megaupload for example if you don't have premium membership.

This was from megashares? I think they have a supported DL manager on their site, try picking that up and see if you're able to insert the download link into that. It might see the file is nearly complete and continue. Never tried this though but sounds like it might work.

Firefox doesn't support resuming if I'm not mistaken.

I should update this but all my effort went into writing this lousy excuse.

I have been unable to pause and resume downloads with Firefox which Orbit could pause and resume.
