I played it for roughly 3 hours...

One of the best 3 hours of time spent in an MMO.

It's a travesty that some scrub *** company is going to bank off of the hard work of the game's previous developers. Seriously. They had a complete damn game pretty much when Flagship closed, so these scrub *** developers got a damn near complete game to publish and call their own.

There's no justice in this world, I tell you.

is this beta only for US people? =/
i might not play it anyway. i didnt like how they tried making it a MMO (from a orpg) and zone3 was boring. when zone2 just came out this game was on its best imo.

The best isometric roguelike action rpg in a persistent world with closed servers and secure data storage for free!

Fast paced hack and slash action.
Long term power progression based on gear, wich is impossible to balance or somehow make a cash shop based upon (unless its like dungeon runners, that is just fail, by the way, that one closes in january).

At least we get to play it lol. Better then nothing. Although they can be lame like alot of companies with low level caps, content removal, OP cash shops, and whatnot.

They said in the dev notes that they are fixing things like making it more of an mmorpg then a rpg with mmo towns (lol) I'm lookin forward to the changes they make.

The game was already heading that way slightly before it closed down.

Just saying they can and will introduce items in the cash shop that are better than dropped items..make your character look different etc etc if they didnt no one would bother buying from the cash shop save exp scrolls but really how much can they charge for exp scrolls and still make them sellable and profitable...op cash shop is a guaranteed.

just saying, just because it is a hack and slash progressive type game does not make it imune to the curse that all f2p games deal with..you know the op cashshop and terrible communities.

    scorpio
    jabba yabba,

but in a game whose main point AND SOLE point is getting power from loot, they cant sell it for cash, or else they break their game main attractive point. Why to play if you cant get the best by yourself? And why to play when you can actually buy it right away from cash?

It has never been done before.

Dungeon Runners tried to force people into subscribing or else they couldnt equip rare items. LOL. Think about it, free to play players had to play only with whites and blues.

In a game whose main point is getting loot, YOU CANT DO THAT, or else you close doors like Dungeon Runners is doing in january 2010.

Did you understood the dilema, or is it too hard to understand?

Besides the cash shop problem wich will be "on your face" for such a limited combat/loot oriented game, we have another problem, even worse.

You cant balance it. There wont be any balance on the game, because the power progression derived from random gear drops (1000 hours of time and effort spent to get the most possibly perfect affixes in the highest values, etc) is JUST TOO STEEP for balancing. Its a game made only and exclusivelly for hardcore players. You can cap the level at 10 and make it take 1 hour to reach, it wont matter, because the items randomness are too steep in terms of time and effort spent between players.

So what we are waiting for is a game that:
    1. certainly wont be balanced: there will be huge difference in power over other players
    2. wont be able to cash in from cash shop (sell "power") without destroying the core attractiveness/point of the game. (wich is play to acquire power, if you can buy it, why play, if you cant acquire without buying, why play? = thats what Im naming now the paradox of f2p games, created on the extreme of a roguelike combat oriented game, this will show the abysm where mmorpgs are heading in with their linear designs focused purelly on combat and acquisition of vertical power, its just that under the premises of a roguelike hack and slash game, you cant fool your player base, they know exactly what they want/expect from such game, you cant change that)

Im very curious about number 2. its like an experience, testing a theory. A cash shop in a roguelike hack and slash is THE paradox of f2p games. I dieing of curiosity to see how it will unveil.
