Default Secret of the Solstice and Windslayer

    Hey everyone,

Some of you may remember me, some may not. But that is not important right now. What is important is that I've come back to Onrpg to talk about the latest two games that I've been playing. Why? Because if there is one thing that people remember about me, its the fact that I only discuss and play games that are genuinely fun.

First up is my biggest time sink: Secret of the Solstice. It's a free to play, click to move 2d/3d fantasy MMO that is pretty easy to learn and play. Login, create a character, and go through the tutorial that actually runs you around town to do some quests. Best of all is that quests involving you running around town go automatically, freeing your attention so you can better learn the layout. As far as the gameplay goes, it controls much like any click to move where you click on the ground to move there, or you click on an enemy to attack. Its fun because its so simple! Secret of the Solstice

The other game that I have been spending a lot of time with is Windslayer. Its also a free to play game, and is a 2d platforming MMO. The fun part of this game is that it really throws me back to my childhood when I played a lot of platforming games in the 8 and 16-bit eras, but with a modern twist. There are a bunch of games that are like it now, but there's just something really catchy about it. Windslayer

I'll be here often, passing on the latest news, events, and promotions as they are announced. If there is anything you want to know about the games, feel free to ask!

Secret of the Solstice is not a new game for me in fact it is the clone of Ragnarok Online game which was started 9 years ago.

I didn't say SotS was new, just that I just discovered it and started to play. That and that I'm digging it.

    Hey atari, how's life brah?

as to the games you mentioned, never played windslayer, but i played SOTS, and it didn't click with me, maybe because i had played RO for so long.

Life is good! No complaints here at all.

When was the last time you played SotS? I ask because I've dug through their forums and seen that there's been a ton of changes since it was released, so it may be worth giving another shot.

And SotS is weird. And i had to much RO in my life to play another game like it.

    It just cant compare,
With Windslayer I had a very similar feeling. Being a child of the 80's means I was raised on the NES and SNES (along with TG16 and Genesis), and when I started it I got that feeling of nostalgia.

Everyone has different tastes, but for me it was a blast from the past...in a good way.

Played Windslayer to level 40 on my Paladin.

PvP is run by Elementalists and Trappers, who do absurd damage. You can't go anywhere without EXP scrolls because GMs removed party XP which was an awesome source, but now it's gone. The game's dying out.

SoS, I haven't played in a while, so I can't comment on it.

Truthfully, I haven't even thought about PVPing in Windslayer yet. I'll have to keep that in mind though, and look more into it. Counter looked interesting to me.

Counters are great when they're good at learning how to use Dragon Kick (great skill for getting rid of Archers, Mages, Priests)...

But other than that, Counters aren't that great all-around.

I played Secret of the Soltice for a day or so? Got up to level 17+ and got bored after. It was fun and all, but there wasn't really anyone to play with. Plus, I was so used to Ragnarok. :x

As for Windslayer.. never tried it. :o

That may have been your isp. I seriously had no lag when I began playing last week. Even earlier today when I logged in to show a few close friends the ropes, there was no lag. Not really sure what to say other than check your internet connect?
