Why do you hate Runescape?

Before you say "RUNESCAPE SECTION" the people there play the game and mostly like it. Their opinions are not what I'm looking for.


Ever since I've been playing it again and my xfire detects it, I keep getting random messages about how I'm a noob and runescape sucks. Upon asking for reasons I'm given a few insults and ignored.

So I'm here to beseech you, the people I love and hate, to tell me why you despise Runescape with such a fiery passion.

If you're going to say graphics then please say what about them you hate besides "theys ugly".

Here's why I hated Runescape:

The graphics were too bad for me to bear and I could only have half the screen to see what was going on. I like to be able to have a clear representation of my character.


I didn't know what to do or where I was all the time. I died a lot.

Everyone else hated it.

To be completely honest, when RS was completely free, you know, in the days of RS classic, the game was pretty awesome; at least for me. Now, I would rather play a private server of UO than pay for RS.

i played runescape p2p when i was younger like 12 got to lvl 93... but now i regret that, runescape is crap now. same after same stuff on it no new stuff. oh, and lack of quests

It's one of the better MMOs perhaps my favourite second to WoW.

The graphics are decent now, hell I didn't really mind before anyway, the quests are my favourite out of the whole genra although I wish there was more group work to team up and fight a tough monster.

The skills do get grindy, but the PvP minigames (Fight pits was always my favourite) made up for that, or even getting treasure trails was fun also. I would much rather play Runescape than Aion or Lineage II as they are about as fun as bashing your head against the wall.

I also don't see how graphics is a valid excuse for hating a game, it just ignorance at it's finest although I have come to ignore most of your opinions with only a few members that I actually care what they have to say.

The biggest flaw with the game is the trade limit, also with most things being solo it feels like a single player game with an auction house. So there needs to be more MMO stuff espically for PvE.

The community was not bad at all! Back in '05 when clans were actually fun to be in because of massive f2p battles in rune armor, or mage bank rivalries. PVP in those days made the game worth it because it felt sooo good to be ****** face with friends.

Runescape use to be a flawless game, until they changed a lot of unnecessary stuff.

Due to that Runescape took a major hit to the player population this angers me a bit, the only problem I can find with Runescape now is the Great exchange and new wilderness and pk servers.

I don't have any problems with Runescape graphics and never will, the game has excellent graphics for a browser based game what takes like 3 seconds to load up. The graphics suit the retro style of the game, I can't stand that new hd bull shit, it makes the game look ugly in my opinion.

I don't understand how you people can criticize the game play when the game had a brilliant crafting system, economy and pk system.

I loved Runescape when I played it years ago. I sorta quit when the 3d shit came out. Reasons I hated it?

1. You don't have a sense of complete control over your character. I hate clicking where I want to go.
2. The community went down the drain when 3d came out. Before it was a pretty nice community, filled with helpful people and people you could actually have a conversation with. Now it's full of people that spam for free stuff, ask you to cyber with them, or call everyone a noob if they don't have the same level of whatever as them (including people that have a higher level than them, for some reason people kept coming up to me and calling me a noob because of this).
3. Chat filter. If I want a chat filter, let ME turn it on. The game has too much censorship.
4. Lag. When I played, the game suffered a horrible lag issue. When you die, losing all of your stuff cept 3 things can really irk you, even more so because the servers were laggy and it wasn't your fault.
5. Java. I don't like it.
6. Jagex sold out to younger kids. No longer is it about what it used to be, but only just catering to younger kids because instead of growing and maturing as a company, they decided to feed off of an age group of 10 year olds.
7. Kept changing the good things, and made them bad. Ugh.

I like runescape, i replayed it a couple of months back. For runescape, it's not really about the graphics. it's more of the skills that's in the game. (firemaking, mining, tree cutting, smithing, if i am not wrong, 1 of the first to have such skills.)

It's all about preferences.. There's no right or wrong in this kind of stuff. Just that alot more people hates it doesn't mean it's a bad game.

I liked to play Runescape- for a while it was really bad, but now the community(forum, Q & A, ...) get better, they've implemented quite good Pvp AND killed 99% of bots, hackers and scammers.
It's the best browsergame i know
-many interessting quests(not that kill xx monsters, get yy items)
-much content on a little space
-many different skills
-many different minigames, and other stuff you can make

It's just stupid, that the f2p-Version is that small(1 Week then you've seen 95%). When you are a member you will never get bored!


Maybe all player hat it because botting and moneytrading isn't possible? x D

Me I play every now and then when im bored. All I do is harass the ****load outta the players in the game asking em to be my GF and if theyll marry me and crap like that. Got jailed around 50 times, muted 20times and banned 10times as I really do enjoy telling mods that im hacking their game so that I can get jailed
