The only reason why i would ever even think about buying hon..is because i cant stand the matchmaking system in lol, it sucks cause i recently got fiddlesticks and i own with fiddlesticks but i just cant stand waiting for 15+ mins for the ****ing matchmaking to get me into a game.
lol: good grahpics
noob friendly (a good thing that means noobs are less likely you **** you over)
great community
freetoplay
shitty *** matchmaking system
hon: good graphics
not noob friiendly (more chance to lose due to noobs)
shitty as community, correction extremly shitty community
30 bucks...
but it doesnt suffer from match making =/
so im sorta torn i really like lol but i ****ing hate match making, and hon is an allright atlernative because it doesnt have matchmaking =/

Do you know why it's harder to win in it. That's because everyone in your team is a complete ****** and it's supposed to be a teamgame. You can't win alone. Okay well maybe in some very rare cases it is possible but most of the time your *** will be kicked 1vs5. Having played DotA for 4 years shouldn't you know that no matter how good you are if your team is shit you can't win.
In HoN about 50% of the time you actually have somewhat competent teammates who aren't running around like headless chickens.
While waiting for people to realise that HoN is superior let the HoN vs. LoL flame begin.
Some Stories Are Just Way Better In My Head!
I haven't played DotA. I do not think that they are the same game. While they share a few same ideas LoL is doing lots of things worse trying to make something new. Worst of their mistakes was taking away the focus on last hitting which was a major part of early gameplay.
However I know the basic ideas in DotA and nothing will make me change my mind on which I think is better LoL or HoN. You saying that they felt like the same game shows that you didn't play them enough to see the differences.
i mostly hate those ******s who leaves a game or plays even thought iam sure they know that they will get disconnected ...

[taiko][/taiko]We're so legit we can play kingdom hearts TWO PLAYER without looking.
Xente: Wait, your cock has wings?
Xente: ****ing awesome.
HoN is f2p or what ? O.O

Meh.. I don't agree that HoN is like a next-gen dota, and it's for "pros" (which is basically what you guys are saying).
I played DotA for 2 years, and then I was invited (pretty early) to HoN. I liked it at first cause but meh, it's basically the same game (items, recipes, most heroes). Recently I gave HoN a second chance, played it for a while, but I was suprised how shitty community is.. so I quit again, and I'm not planning on coming back.
I enjoyed playing LoL, cause it was different. I was just waiting for European Retail, so I can download it now.

haha these threads just don't end..
The genre is MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena)
The style of play was from Aeon of Strife (Starcraft)
There are more (Bloodline Champions + IceFrog & Valve MOBA) that will probably be way better.
There are other very lame versions, Battle of Kingdoms, Elite Champions, League of Legends that will fail within the next year.
On a side note: I've never been grieved so much in a video game than I was my first few weeks in Heroes of Newerth, and to be honest, I kinda liked it. All the screaming and name calling actually made me try harder to be better at the game. Strange huh?
EDIT: after reading a few more posts, wtf is up with all the people saying the community sucks? any community will freak out if you don't know wtf you are doing...if you like the game, read some newbie tutorial's or watch some livestream's of people who don't suck, so you can actually get better at the game..lol saying the community sucks because A) you feed oryou have a crappy build is not funny, please stop.
Reputation: 15LoL is more focussed on a new crowd, who cant compare it with dota and hon. Hence they can use a cash shop, which would have killed hon.
Reputation: 41no you fail because you tryed to f uck me but i was right that LoL was made bei the dota team![]()
"That's why I love OnRPG, we can spend two pages
about arguing about swimming."
Yea LoL is indeed made by the fameous Steve Feak I'll Quote some text down from the official LoL website. LoL is certainly not for noobs though it's a completely different approach of Dota imo a way more aggresive game and less thinking like "Am I gonna make this or shall I not do this at all." and thank god for No-Gamebreaking items in LoL, it's all pretty balanced out the items atleast I know some champions or how Dota players would refer Heroes are pretty overpowered, but that's being worked on. I'd go for LoL, simply because it's made by the original people and HoN is not.
Who are the people behind League of Legends?
As you may already know, the League of Legends development team includes Steve “Guinsoo” Feak, the original creator of DotA Allstars, and Steve “Pendragon” Mescon who started DotA-Allstars.com, and has worked closely with the DotA community for the past five years.
What you may not know, is that the League of Legends team also includes many game industry veterans, who collectively have shipped dozens of successful titles.
* Tom “Zileas” Cadwell (Design Director) – Formerly at Blizzard as the Play Balance Lead for Warcraft III: Frozen Throne, and a key designer on World of Warcraft, Tom brings his focus on mechanical and technical design, and his experience as one of the world’s most recognized Starcraft players to the table to help make League of Legends a balanced and polished play experience.
* Shawn “Babagahnoosh” Carnes (Lead Creative Designer) – Shawn has spent over 15 years working in the gaming industry, beginning his career working at Wizards of the Coast during the first four seasons of Magic the Gathering, and more recently working at Blizzard helping develop lore for World of Warcraft, and designing the World of Warcraft: TCG. He’s responsible for ensuring that League of Legends is set in an interesting world with unique and creative champions.
* And many more…
Riot is a company of gamers who have fallen in love with DotA and want to take the experience to the next level. We believe that League of Legends is helping to pioneer a new genre of games that we’re calling MOBA or “Multiplayer Online Battle Arena” that we’re excited to help bring to a global audience.
In addition to a dedicated team of developers for North American, we have partners in Europe and Asia who will help us establish League of Legends as a truly international title.
the game ye it is in balanced yet ... many overpowered Champions ... so its pretty hard to play sometimes but still game is made quite good![]()
Some Stories Are Just Way Better In My Head!
IF only it was true that HoN is better than LoL. The fact is, you are so hurt when you pay 30 bucks and you know that there is something better and... free of course.
Don't make me laugh please, most of you who said LoL is for noobs are probably noobs themselves, I know some people from DoTA with 2 years+ experience who suck at LoL, on the other hand, any average DoTA player will do good at HoN.
well i have not played hon but I do kno the upcoming things in lol are gonna be pretty awsome
