DoTA All-stars have Free online?

I recently saw the thread of LoL and HoN and decided I wanted some dota style fun. So atm I'm downloading LoL because I don't have the money to purchase HoN. But my question is, Is DoTa All-stars online for free? And does it have a decent community?

Eh, That's easy I already have Warcraft 3 and Frozen throne Virtual Disked on my Computer, But I Don't feel like Warcraft 3 anymore atm, Had the most amazing Mods though.

HoN is getting close to the end of their CB phase.
you're asking if dota have a decent community or not ?? lol.. the MOBA/DBG genre probably has the worst community ever. if you don't bring a flame shield or you got a weak heart, don't even bother playing it.

dota itself is free. it's only a custom map. since you already have frozen throne installed, then just download dota map. play it on Garena. battle net sucks anyway..

Dota is the best game if you want to learn how to flame even i still learn some new flame words after 4 years .
Well you can start in "B-net" ( Extrem Flamers Like djudjud says weak heart = death i bet some guys even cry here).

The next lv would be " dotaleague" ( Still flames but the soft ones becouse you can get banned for flaming).
Then Dota pickup ( no flames becouse you get perma banned from it and its a pain to get in again you need to get vouched from other players and i would say is the most skilled of the 3) .
Well theres some way to dont get flammed becouse your an noob play with dota ai maps you get them from offical homepage getdota.com ( its a simulation of a game with bots and watch replays from othergames so you knwo what items to buy and how to react in a situation.

You could try to get me too in bnet or irc ( dotapicup) for games i can tach you some things too ^^
