Default Nexeon teams up with unique roleplaying MMO

Houston, Texas – December 10, 2009 – As part of its commitment to independently developed massively multiplayer games, Nexeon Technologies, a company with a wealth of expertise in game services, server hosting, custom billing solutions, and marketing, is happy to announce a partnership with Castle Thorn Software to help see its current MMO, labeled StarQuest Online, into a new stage of production.

In StarQuest Online, players can assume the persona of a character living, exploring, fighting, and possibly dying in the 23rd Century. As an intrepid Starfleet officer, swashbuckling pirate, devious smuggler, deadly bounty hunter, wealthy merchant, or ordinary civilian, players shape this world and its history into whatever they wish.

There are over 17,000 star systems in StarQuest Online, and approximately 100,000 individual planets. Star positions were taken from Hipparcos satellite data for positional accuracy. Each planet was then created using a stellar dust accretion program based on the mass of each star. There are over 150 non-player character (NPC) races, and many other alien creatures inhabiting these worlds. Players can choose from three unique races when creating their characters. Several different classes of starships are available for players to command, explore, and battle with.

To allow Castle Thorn Software to concentrate solely on game development, Nexeon’s involvement with the title sees that the game is hosted on cutting-edge servers to support a global client base. Nexeon will also market the game and provide a secure billing system, amongst other roles.

“We are very excited to be working cooperatively with Castle Thorn Software on such a unique, feature-filled game,” said Nexeon’s CEO, Charles Wood. “With our proven infrastructure and multiple years of experience in the MMO market, we hope to see the game grow and succeed just as much as the people who made it.”

“Nexeon’s proven track record and commitment to independently developed online games makes them the ideal partner to help us take StarQuest Online to the next level,” said Castle Thorn’s founder, Bardon Thorn. “Our relationship so far has been outstanding and we are very excited to be working with them to bring our first MMO to a wider online audience.”

    That website looks horrible.

They are going to be competing, in this case, with Star Trek Online. I have no doubt in my mind that Star Trek will be it just by the name along. While most people have heard of StarTrek and are familiar with it. Who the hell ever heard of StarQuest? Sounds like that ******ed movie with Tim Allen.

Anyways. When people usually say they are using cutting edge technology and star charts and blah blah blah.... they usually are not and just trying to hype up their game. This game will go into a black hole like most of Nexeons games. Playing only to a niche audience.

I've heard wonderful things about StarQuest online...its certainly no competitior to Star Trek online but its a niche game that has a rabid following.

Also for anyone thinking that its Nexon, its not. Nexeon redid Face of Mankind. Nexon is the giagantic MMO powerhouse that only publishes AAA titles
