    Default Ambitious Mission.....

Well first let me get this clear, this is not some form of "Advertisement", I'm simply looking for suggestions/help etc. If you don't want to read through this wall of text, simply skip to "The main point of things"

I've created a Game "Company" of sorts, Its name is TheGameSanctum.
Our mission is to provide user's with a fun, well updated game that is free of user's that are using illegal programs. Our aim is also to provide a cash shop that will not disturb players gaming experience or give other users an advantage by simply paying. So from this ,all users, Cash shop or non-cash shop users will be equal.

One major problem that arises with any online games are cost. There are a lot of costs. The first initial cost is actually obtaining the game's license, this usually quite costly and is not very "fun". The second cost is the games servers. Server computers are extremely expensive and tend to use a lot of power, A good server is a must for any good online game. One of the last costs is Web hosting. This plays a major role as if your web host cannot handle major traffic then you may lose players or be in a bad situation trying to get the server back up.

On to the main point of things. Obviously we don't have much of a budget yet so our intention is to obtain a game that has previously "Died" and currently has no company publishing it. Through this we will most likely be able to obtain a game for little to no cost, especially if the developer has no plans for it and the game as just been "Ditched".

Now you may be thinking "If the game failed for them, what makes you so special?". Well there's a fairly simple answer to that. By obtaining the game for little cost, we can focus on other things such as server quality, update quality and Overall quality. We will not have to invest a ton of money just starting off and there will be no major business risks taken. Therefore we will not be as pressured to make an extreme amount of money right away and will be able to become successful.

What we are looking for are suggestions as to what game you would like to see published that has died and there are no plans of it coming back.

We are currently contacting a few companies, in particular we are looking at "Dragon Gem Online" and "Gunster". We have not heard back from the companies that own these games yet, but we will keep our fingers crossed.

You can check out our website at www.thegamesanctum.com , for any questions you can send me a PM here, or simply use the contact page on our website. Please keep in mind that our website is mostly temporary and is still under construction.

    Thanks
    ~Alex

I've heard rumors(Only rumors, not confirmed) of Survival project already coming back. That would be a game that would be nice to see come back.

Hellgate london would most likely be a quite costly game to gain the license to. Seeing as its still active in foreign countries correct?

Just out of pure curiosity, do you or your company for that matter have the financial backing to actually acquire a liscense for any of the games you mentioned? Or a team ready to localize, publish and maintain any of these games?

Well after further consideration unless I can:
    Find a ridiculously cheap MMO
    Find a COMPLETELY abandoned MMO
Pull a few hundred grand out of my *Behind*
Try to create my own mmo.

Sorry for getting anyone's hopes up, I tend to think a bit too far ahead of myself without realizing what exactly my plan is.

an easily forseeable problem is that if the game is dead, the devs are hard likely going to offer support for it based on the promise of a large player base

on another note, a good fun game i played as a kid was Aspereta - Maismore. its developed by the same people who made Illutia. It's a dead project to them, but you might be able to take it off their hands.
