    Default Quick question about steam

Yeah i dont really know where to post this, but i'll post it here, i'm looking to buy CoD:MW2 off of steam and was wondering if the CD Key comes with it? I don't feel like driving to the store which is about 30 mins away to pick it up. So i'm looking for people who actually buys games off of steam or knows about it.

Well, I've never bought a game that required a CD-key directly off of Steam before (I have bought normal games before though on Steam)... but I'm guessing it won't give you a CD key when you buy it. After you buy it, it'll simply appear under your "My Games" tab in the Steam client. Then you double click it, download/install it and play as usual. The only thing it requires is that you log in into your account on the Steam client (though I imagine it probably works in offline mode once the game is purchased and installed onto your PC?).

That's my guess though, don't take my word for it lol. Either way, buying it on Steam will allow you to legitimately play the game, whether they actually give you a key or not. Wouldn't make you spend full price on the game, just to not allow you to play.

It does give you the CD-key.

Well for Trackmania United Forever it required a CD key. When I first entered the game, created an account the CD key was already pasted in the CD key bar. Same was for UT3. First time logged in and it automatically entered the CD key.

    Yes I am.
The key is somehow built in already and when you will create an account the key will be already in there.

I had to enter mine manually for UT3, but the pop up thingy in the lower right of your screen held up the key until I entered it and also told me I had to enter the key before I could continue.

Either way, buying the game on Steam will get the game on your PC and playable... whether the key is pre-installed or given to you.

Oh and it doesn't let you play them unless you're connect to the internet and actually logged into Steam. Yes, that sucks majorly for when your router decides to be a ****.

There's offline mode so that's not true.

File --> Go Offline --> Restart in Offline Mode.
