BUT if its just something thats generally looked down upon simply because people dont agree with it and not because its against the rules.... well... you really have no right to complain.

ive lost count of the amount of times people cry "omg spawnkill" at the end of a one-sided clan-stack game of CoD:uo, but its a legitimate tactic and i too unleash the spawnkill when i have the chance.... its just one of those things.

what it boils down to is that one individual is upset that another individual has done something/achieved something in a way which you personally dont want to; because of lofty ideals or ivorytower-ness or whatever.

if its not against the rules then you just have to deal with it. calling people noobs who dont deserve it just ensures you create another generation of rage fueled, insult hurling, bruise-like-a-peach-ego gamers.
Not really. I mean if something is generally accepted as a low skill tactic by the majority of players, then I see no reason why anyone would have an issue with people not liking them using it. Rules don't matter. Developers can't foresee and balance their game for every situation, most don't even bother with a beta test, the idea that I should ignore my own verdict on things and instead trust the rules set by a development company who are unaware of many aspects of their own game. I mean if you look at the gun like the Akimbo Model 1887 on MW2, it's clear they had no idea what they were doing when they went for that gun, evident in that they're already going to be patching it and how it's known more or less by every person who plays that game that it's a low skill weapon to use. If the game was beta tested and the development company listened, this would have never made it to release, as I'm sure a few other aspects of the game would not have either.

If you're playing a console game such as the Xbox 360, setting your Zone to "Underground" and going into match making, you're pretty much asking for such treatment and you should complain for doing so, I mean, it's even in the description for the zone.

I suppose it dates back to the days of the honour code and other such things, it's always been the case that in warfare, humanity opts for code of honour, sure, to the Samurai, killing a guy when he's on the ground wasn't "Against the rules of the game", but, it was shameful to do so. Duelling in the 1800s, as another example, I suppose it just extends towards online gaming as well. If you want to be free from such things, go play private matches with your friends, if they're not asses, great, but, if you're playing competitively with other people, then you should expect an underlying "Code of conduct" so to speak, breaking it results in abuse from others.

Such is the way with online gaming, I'd rather be the one with a sense of superiority than the one receiving abuse.
And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear.

You shout and no one seems to hear.

I think "noob" is beginning to mean: "Someone who bested you in a video game"

Exactly TheSkald. A true pro should be one who is able to adapt to whatever his enemy throws at him, regardless of skill required. Look at some of the top Starcraft player or top Street Fighter 3 players. That Daigo clip where he parries the Chun-Li ultra alone is proof of a real pro.

force of nature is actually harder to use since you only 2 shots, it has a good knockback, but if your 2 shots miss or only 1 hits and your oponents survives, you are in trouble

    eeeeeeeeexactly

    hence "still kicked ur-*ss. noob".

unless someone is using glitches or exploits then i dont care if they use some cowardly tactic.

i guess i just hate seeing the word noob spammed everywhere.

its really bad in mmo's though. if youve just started and you dont have the "right" gear.. NOOB. if you havent balanced your stats same as everyone else NOOB. if you havent followed a build guide NOOB. if you dont know what an acronym means and you have to ask NOOB. if you step one tiny iota out of your class role in a group NOOB LOLOLOL.

i mean how the f*cking hell am i supposed to know that you dont equip the fire cape of maximum owning unless your ****-buff is maxed by level 15 and in a group with an arcane rocketpants summoner?

why the smeg do people have zero tolerance for other people who are blatantly new? i mean.... low level and sh*t gear/asking newby questions is the gaming equivalent of an L plate. do you in real life intentionally tailgate learner drivers and p*ss them off with idiot behaviour and lay into them as soon as you see them on the road? (well if you do you probably dont spend your time on video games).... but yeah, man it p*sses me off when i see people calling other people noobs.

I usually help noobs out to learn the ways of the game and not learn the way of the "skill" guns or builds but to just learn the ways such as in mw2 using the recent shot give away on the radar to predict movement, and how to time shots such as if you see them do you have enough viewable time to get the kill or will they be covered before that last bullet lands (yes you can shot throughw alls but the dmg is redcued and if you dont compensate you wont get the kill.

or in css how to quick switch with awp to reload faster, or in mmo's such as sun ill run them through some of the noobie dungeons and give them pointers on builds and if im well off at the time ill boost up their wallets a bit for + equips.

but really even if im killed by a "noob" i usually just say nice shot...im not a hater lol cause i wasnt always good i started off like that as well and i hated it when people would nerd rage all over me, i also encourage people to do what is fun for them weather that be using the main stream weapons or builds or going awol and doing what ever they feel like (i use a agi/str dk in sun lol...no skills at all, and im a scrambler/cold-blooded/silencer noob in mw2...what? you cant see me you cant kill me)

This is why you should be very selective about who you play games with. Far too many gamers haven't developed the mental ability to deal with losing.

I'm talking about tf2 op weapons.

So yes the tactic of choosing the most ****ed up op weapon will gain you an occasional kill but will lead to you getting a vote kick/flame till you quit.

I have no respect for those who choose the obvious op advantage weapon just because they cannot get any kills with the normal weapons.

I was deeply upset when my team on Grand Theft Auto IV ran me down as I was trying to get into their car. They had the cheek to insult me after, too!

Heroes of Newerth: You pick Scout = noob
You don't get eye as first skill = noob
You pwn with scout(YES NOT KSING!) = noob
You BD(very suited for this) = noob

And the best part is that everyone even your team rages at you.

When is an appropriate time to call someone a noob, then?

    When they are going 0-32?

depends what you mean/understand by witty..... for instance....

someone who pounds their keyboard with their face and lets rip curdling yells of "nnnOOOOOOOOOOB" all the time might think that calling someone a "f*cking noob" is really witty and original. then when all their equally cretinous friends/minions all vomit on their keyboards producing a torrent of "LMFAO " OVER AND OVER AGAIN, the moron in question might have their insult validated and end up walking away thinking "man im so witty".

arguing against groups of people like that feels like you are shouting inside a lead box with the lights switched off; reaching noone and ultimately futile.

Insults are always appropriate with a friend who can take them, we just joke around.

Though some people have to learn how to play certain game modes... in MW2... most people think CTF is TDM but less points per kill...

    OP:

you should play halo with me and not your dumb friend.

stickies? sticking someone is harder than 4 shotting with a BR in my opinion.

    offtopic:
people call Assault Rifle a noob weapon.. then what is the "noob tubes" -Rockets- i ask myself? xD

    on:again:
    haha.

Well, if your up for some game, my gamertag is: iLaCoSt3

my friends list is full, but i'll make room for an ONRPG'r
just msg and say you'r from ONRPG and want to play halo 3,
also got a few other games, but.. you'll have to pm me if you wanna know.
Not going to list them here..

And lol, you didn't complain about dying 23 times? and when your friend died once, he started screaming? xD
hahahahahahahahahaha... i'd like to 1v1 him, but i doubt he'd stay long enough for me to get my running riot perfection on him.. xD

Done that to so many people crying over me sucking at xbox live, i suck because i like to have fun, mess around on live, its social, get over it..
But I also go serious if there's some douches talking trash to my team.

Action Sack is my new thing, it's fun to play, you don't have to try, loads of messy gametypes ...

it's realy just one big bowl of enjoyment..
No exp is a bad thing, but all the good stuff you get to play in it.. mmmmmmmm...

anyways, hit me up on xbl if you wanna play.
