Its a great fun game and you can do anything a paying person can, you just have to work extra hard on EVERYTHING. Just shell out 10$ when you first start and you will be set for a month or two...

The game is basically a slot machined disguised as an MMO. In order to do absolutely anything you need to continuing to put money in. Every now and then you'll get lucky and get a great loot or find a large mineral deposit, but even then you'll only get back the money you spent on ammo.
It's not really a game I'd recommend playing. It can be a lot of fun and it has one of the best communities in any MMO, but you do still have to put money in to actually play.

You can technically play for free. You can download it, make an account and run around all day, but all you'll be able to do is get sweat off of monsters. You can sell the sweat for money, but the price of sweat is so low you won't be able to fund anything with it.
And yes, you can make real-life money inside the game. But unless you've got a few hundred thousand dollars to invest in it, you won't make a cent. The game is designed to make it impossible for you to make a profit, so the only way to make money is in commerce.

From what i know they don't have sweating in this version yet. They updated a lot of it, updated to a new gfx engine and they've yet to add a lot of features back in, sweating being one of them.
