I just started DLin' it, heard great things about the game so I'm hoping for the best

Call me spoiled or something, but the lack of a minimap spoiled it for me.
Love the graphics, the music, spells, everything. But I got frustrated with the minimap.

I have really, really tried to like this game, but it has the worst combat system of any game I've ever played.
If you're playing a melee character and you click a monster to attack it, your character won't move within range and start hitting it, oh no, instead you get a message telling you that you are too far away, you have to then manually move within range!....and Heaven help you if you aren't facing the monster, then you can't hit it at all!
Ranged play is no better, now you get messages telling you that you are too bloody close!!!!!
And just to add insult to injury, there is no auto-attack! That's right, if you want to keep hitting a monster you have to keep clicking your mouse over and over and over and over!
I'm sorry, but I just can't play it, the combat really is that awful!

stop being ridiculous if you say that it means you haven't played WoW because allods doesn't resemble anything ... how can coal(alldos) resemble gold(wow) ??? besides its shape ? and also WoW is p2p not f2p OP was talking about best f2p mmo ... and allods isn't best f2p because its still in CB ... and hell knows when it will be OB ... :/

I tried it. It is alright. Better than most, but not best. It has a better graphic design than WoW, but WoW is quite old now.
Gameplay wise, I rather play WoW, the real deal, heck, even RoM is a better choice.

God forbid you'll have to click your mouse a couple times..
It's better than any other 3d MMO out right now that runs off a point to click system, period.
It's realisitc, and could (POSIBLY) take some skill later on if ran properly. It resembles WoW but the community is no where near as bad. - The crafting system it's a free WoW.
That's probally the reason I won't play it for more than two weeks, though.

It's a very solid game, can't wait till open beta. But I'm afraid I won't be able to stick to one character and lose interest.

Cry me a ****ing river so what thats the games status right now I can judge if I want. Don't get all pissed like a fanboy because ppl aren't liking your favorite game. I'm judging the game how it is now and it's my right. If the game gets better in OB I will openly admit that. But even so I doubt it will be the best f2p but it certainly a solid game.

on-topic: never played Allods online nor do I plan to until I can bring my desktop from college which should be around next week....hopefully.

Happens a lot, because in most of cbs you can play only until "low" lvl (well it's low compared to full release) and i'd say that usually gameplay drastically changes in later levels, so your argument is pretty much false.
