Default Forcing resolution for a game

I decided to get Shadow of Destiny for the PC after not playing it for 9 years back when it was on the ps2.

I noticed the highest ingame resolution is 800x600 and was wonder if there is a way to force the resolution for a custom one.

There is no config file so I think the only way would be to mess around with the .exe file but I m not sure how to go about on that.

    anyone have a clue?

Playing in such a low resolution makes it look pixelated on my screen.

You could search a HD pack for the game, but there aren't many out, no matter which game.

Depending on your driver settings, you could make the game appear with a black border for the pixels it doesn't use (game will be centered).

Are you sure there isn't a config file? As I did need to search around a bit for other games to find it. It doesn't neccesarily has to be named config.ini but it could be options.cfg etc. If you find after searching such a file, back it up first.

And finally: if you manage to put your resolution on 1920*1200 (randomly picked resolution), you wouldn't have strong aliasing as compared to the 800*600, but the texture quality would still be low. So pretty pointless to increase screen size than. Force AA through your driver's options.

I should update this but all my effort went into writing this lousy excuse.

I already have the AA forced.

There is no config file at all.

but I heard someone on another forum saying they got it to work on a custom resolution but you had to mess with the exe file.

but that thread was old and locked so I couldn't ask how to do it.

You'd need a resource editor, but I haven't bothered with them yet, so I cannot tell what to watch out for or which one to recommend.

Backup first if you aren't sure of what you are doing and make sure you are indeed, editing the intended exe.
