My example was used because you said "Atheism = Unconvinced". This is factually untrue, as I've proven. If an atheist is unsure, they're not atheist.

Historically, it was used with negative connotations since the very beginning. If anything, its historical creation could be considered tongue-in-cheek. It was born because people sought to mock those who had come to believe in Gods, which they didn't believe in themselves.
They used the term atheos, which means "Without God", to mean that they are without God due to rejecting the beliefs of God or deities. It was, if anything, tongue-in-cheek.
