most english speakers go to World 2 Channel 9
If you speak thai, you'll love World 6 Channel 5.
Edit: You will find BR's in both of those channels
and a board of english speakers with various guides if you sign up.

It is possible to use a controller.
I personally use the keyboard, so i can't help you configure your controller. sorry

hit esc-> 2nd to last option -> Z (im not really sure after this)
