Also, rock is such a vague genre. You should go in greater detail on what you like, since there are so many subgenres, punk, industrial, progressive, stoner, grunge, indie, metal, and so on.
Also, listening to popular bands will leave much to be desired.

All I can think of at the moment. My girlfriends car doesn't have a CD player in it...so when we are riding around, all we usually have is the radio. I've come to appreciate the aforementioned bands...because there is NOTHING GOOD on the ****ing radio. They aren't my favorites at home by any measure...but I at least enjoy it when they play in the car. Actually, I get excited that its something decent.
