A: Could any of those drummers play at the speed of Joey?

B: So if Joey was twice as old as he is now he could do a 8 minute demonstration of almost every drum style ever?

C: If you play something enough long enough your body becomes adjusted to it, so not breaking a sweat means nothing.

D: You cant compare "People" to anyone like that....
A: Uhh...yes? You do realise that Joey isn't really THAT fast, right? He uses triggers to make himself seem faster also. Lots of metal drummers do.

B: No, because he isn't that well versed in drumming. He plays metal and rock. No offense, but there's a reason he's in Slipknot. I like Slipknot, but there's a reason he's in that band and not Dream Theater or Rush. He simply couldn't be. He writes very simple music and plays it quite fast.

C: It does, especially when you're an older man. Lots of young drummers play like they're gonna have a heart attack and don't produce half as much musical presense as Terry Bozzio, Neil Peart or Brann Dailor.

It's all about technique. If you have great technique, you don't even have to try so hard.

Joey Jordison isn't regarded as one of the best drummers ever, on a technical level, by ANYONE besides those who either love Slipknot and/or know nothing of drumming.

That's because he isn't one of the best.

What more do you need explained?
