I preorded and was in the beta. I've since gotten a refund from Steam. It's a fun shooter, but to me it's not an MMO.
It's just 10 v 10 instances over and over again, with some Alliance v Alliance map control stuff thrown in.
If ya don't really care about the MMO/RPG part then it's a good game. Just not enough depth for me in GA

I pretty much did exactly the same as noob, preordered then got a refund.
Yeah the game is fun but there are 1000 other TPS out there where you get all the content with no subscription fee.
If it was a true MMO it would seriously kick arse but unfortunatly it worth giving it a miss or wait until a trial pops up.

tell me some. The only faction based mmo with shooter action and free service is FoM..never thought there are so many out there

I enjoy the game, the instanced combat is good to me, because if it wasn't instanced, people would whine about "zergfests" and the sort. AvA still can go up to 60vs60, depending on how many strikeforces attack a Hex. Honestly, I don't really care about the fact that it is instanced, it's a fun game with good features, and I look forward to seeing future content.

I prefer other mmofps like counter-strike and battlefield. Hey, if global agenda calls itself a mmo those 2 other fps' might aswell.
There's nothing mmo about global agenda with its 10vs10 pvp and 4p 'coop' pve. I will play it after it temporarily closes down in a year and gets re-released as a f2p cash shop fps.

Game is great imho, I like the combat (medic :P). My friend brings his laptop over to my room and plays with me. I believe you should play to lvl 10 on each character then decide who you want to play. I was going to play recon at first but then found out medics are fun.

I love this game with a passion level 32 Robotics already, it's just to bad that Medics are all mostly poison medics

At first I didn't think that AvA wasn't a big deal. You really have to think about it. It's strategy because you have to pick what points to go to and which to defend. You have to form alliances and pacts (which means player interaction and player run games work well sometimes (This is one that does imo)). Also you can't just take over the map and be overpowered, theres limits on shields and turrets which means a well coordinated attack could topple things.
The depth of it is just more than shoot shoot kill kill. Even though thats what you do, those actions influence a lot of other stuff.
Normal pvp is fun, like Team Fortress 2, which I haven't experienced in a while.
pve is kinda bland, but it is still challenging (especially on intense sec. missions)
This is just a lv 24 full support medic's 2 cents.
I like the game, but its by no means an MMORPG shooter.

I'm a full blown healer when it comes to the game. Only time I do dmg is when I believe it's necessary. I heal over 40k normally in a longish match. in short 10min matches I normally get 20k in.
If ur getting about 4k a match that's kind of messed up because max I've received was about 2.3k and that was over 30min match. Idk if healing counts to XP but if it doesn't they need to add it because if I'm to be healer only then I'd want some big bonus for being the top healer...

Healing doesn't count much towards EXP like a lot of medics are saying it should.
Most of a healing medic's exp comes from assists/buffs/objective points.
While the assault they're healing usually gets like 3-4k exp a match, the medic themself is getting 1-2k.

I think some of the Youtube videos of this looks great. I am confused... In a way it looks good. but that Global Agenda quick look turned me off. I guess I should try it.

You can't really compare it, it's a sci-fi futuristic shooter, imagine Halo (kinda) with lots of different weapons and gadgets for each class.

I think Conquest mode is a monthly subscription to play a 10 vs 10 scenario (no match will ever be more then 10 vs 10) and nothing like Planetside.

Conquest has vehicles, guns, shooting also.
Or are you just saying "nothing like planetside" because the matches are capped at 10?
