Default Australian banker caught looking at nude photos during news report

Some poor chap was looking at nude photos during the filming of a new program. People believe that he was pranked into opening the photos during live filming by his colleagues and have a campaign going to save his job because he could get fired for looking at "less than appropriate" images during company time and getting caught doing it on live television.

I feel kinda sorry for the guy. We've all wasted time at work at some point in time and if he was legitimately set up by his coworkers into opening those emails when the camera was rolling then I don't think he should lose his job over it.

Couldn't even make out the pictures; was that an HD broadcast cause if not I doubt anyone really seen anything anyways and if he was setup there's no reason to fire him in fact I'd punish the people who sent the pictures because it's their fault regardless if it was prank or not.

I don't think he knew that he was in live television. I bet he was bored and figured that those pictures are pretty good, and did what he normally would have regardless of the camera.

Its really funny how he turned around at the end which could have been a...

    1) Ok who did that turn

    or

    2) Ohsht the camera was rolling behind me.

    But yah you shouldn't be punished for getting pranked. I mean...unless he started pleasuring himself or summin which would have been epic lolz but apparently he didn't D;

"Meanwhile, the incident has generated a surge of interest in Ms Kerr - a 26-year-old Australian fashion and advertising model.

The number of searches for her name on Google soared by 100% after the appearance of the clip on YouTube."

Lucky girl. She should be supporting this guy.

    She is.

An Australian banker caught viewing risque photos of a top model on live TV can keep his job, the bank said, after the beauty backed an Internet campaign to support him.

Macquarie Bank said it had decided not to sack broker David Kiely following an internal review into the incident, in which he was shown clicking on semi-naked pictures of model Miranda Kerr in the background of a news story.

“He will remain an employee of Macquarie,” the bank said in a brief statement late Friday.

“Macquarie and the employee apologise for any offence that may have been caused.”

Kerr, a top model, had earlier said she would happily sign a petition urging Macquarie not to fire Kiely, who was apparently unaware that a colleague behind him was doing a rates interview when he opened the images.

Video of the gaffe generated hundreds of thousands of hits on YouTube and inspired several Facebook pages supporting the banker, as well as a popular “Save Dave” campaign by London-based business website hereisthecity.com.

Support for Kiely has been growing on the Internet, with the membership of the “Macquarie - Don’t Fire David Kiely” Facebook group swelling to 1,344 members.

The site says Kiely provided the human face of banking when he “did what any other person in his shoes would have done - took some time out from his busy day to look at some harmless photos someone emailed him”.

“What a legend. I love this guy,” wrote one member.

Another wrote: “Even my Mum reckons you shouldn’t lose your job and she’s really harsh about lotsa stuff!!”

The group’s creator Hayden Starkey welcomed Macquarie’s decision to keep Kiely on.

“Great to see commonsense has prevailed in this day and age of political correctness!” he wrote. “Congrats Dave, I hope you are enjoying your newfound fame.”
