    Default MMO hopping...

I am most definitely a mmo hopper.
That is, I'm never ever satisfied with one game for long, but chances are the next one I try will do no good either.
I don't know if I'm meant to not stick with games, or it's part of a mental problem I have (ADHD-like symptoms part of something bigger) where I can't concentrate and get distracted easily, but it's there.

The farthest I've gone in a game is level 62 or so in WoW and this took years of on and off playing.
All things considered, if I were normal I'd have reached 80 a few times by now.

Anyways, what do you guys think of mmo hopping?
Are you a hopper, or have dealt with one before?
How would you deal with it if you found yourself wanting to play a mmo, but couldn't seem to be satisfied by any of them for long?

Hm, not sure on that one.
I think of it as playing the first few levels in a game, then suddenly losing interest.
It's a 'never satisfied' kinda feeling you get.

    "part of something bigger"
you probably mean PDD-NOS (Pervasive Developmental Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified )
I also have ADHD, and PDD-NOS and I've got no problem with concentrating on games.

Although you can call me a hopper, I've played pretty much every mmo that's worth of playing, but games I've sticked with for years are Ragnarok Online, Lineage2, World of Warcraft, and now Mabinogi.

I will admit, I somewhat have faith in Allods Online that it might keep me once it's in Open Beta.
I was in the last few days of the last closed beta (though anyone could have joined, so in a way it was open...) and it was just so fun.
Runes of Magic almost kept me, but the dual class system must not have been my thing...

As you can see, WoWish games that are F2P kinda give me hope.
Though I'd prefer that it simply be WoWish and not a total rip-off, if that makes any sense...

I should ask my doctor about that...they said I have ******-effective disorder, and the ADHD symptoms come in the form of a minor mania.

Ever since I found Onrpgs free Mmo section, I've been hopping with everyone.

A couple years ago, we literally switched games every couple weeks. The amount of "stand out" games have died down recently so, I'm just waiting for that next "Best MMO ever".

People sometimes hop MMOs because they have the odd feeling that the game won't garner enough players and shutdown, therefore wasting their time.

I usually go back to certain games like Maplestory(already have decently leveled characters on it so I can enjoy any new content), or SotNW(friend started playing again with his girlfriend so I may as well join them, Mabinogi(But the second time around, I really sucked at combat, but I love the games art style), etc.

I kinda stopped playing anything new about a year ago/right after DFO. I'm really just waiting for the next big game.

The mmos I tend to stick with are quest based, with a nice amount of group dungeons.
I'm starting to learn that if a game either has no quests, or no worth-while quests, then I don't stick with it.

This. I loved RO more than any other game and nothings made me like MMOs as much ever since.
