firstly adjust the brightness and contrast of the drawing (if its in black and white) and make sure the background is clean, then outline the drawing if you want so that you get clean lines... then you can make another layer(s) for your coloring. i can explain better if still having trouble >3<

If you have a mouse then either don't edit it or be prepared to waste 4 hours of pentooling.
